Title: IFU mod question
Post by: ElSeven on March 21, 2013, 12:48:06 PM
As my pce briefcase setup is my main source for obey, I was wondering if it might be possible to mod this setup to power on with only the pce switch, negating the need to lock/power the IFU as well.  It is not an inconvenience by any means to switch both on before playing, but this would be an attempt to streamline the process (i.e powering on the duo or mega cd).

has this been attempted before? is it possible?  It may not be necessary to enjoy the system, but I am definitely curious.

For a one switch solution, leave the PCE on and only use the switch on the IFU; the PCE is powered through the IFU bus, so cutting the IFU's power will turn the PCE off as well.

hmm I change hucards pretty often, so this may not be the resolution I'm looking for.  thanks though!

I wonder if there is a way to keep the IFU locked on, but keep it from powering until the PCE is switched on.  Would something like this be possible?

Think of it like the TG/CD setup:  there are 2 power switches, one for the console and one for the base.  The layout for the TG just makes more sense (about the only thing that was improved on imo).

This could be done, but its going to require an extra wire and some sort of socketed connection. Its totally not worth it.
