I dig the art and the seemingly wacky tone of the game, but I have never played them. Saw that the PSN has some of the earlier titles and have seen the PS3 titles are fairly inexpensive as well.
Any recommendations, suggestions, where I should start? and yes, I enjoy tactical games.
Thanks!

I've only played the first one. They're decent games. Almost every game published by NIS if it isn't Disgaea plays very similarly though. I'd say pick up any game in the series and see if you like it. The PSP ones can be found rather inexpensively if you look around.

One of my favorite series, and pretty much all (except maybe 4) should be a $20 or under game these days. Hilarious sense of humor, over the top wackiness abounds.

Start with the original if any thing to get the basic down. Also the original has gotten it's sequel with Disgaea D2,which is coming to the u.s this fall.
