Post by: kurre on April 13, 2013, 04:03:01 PM
Hello, Im new here. So i came across some pcenginegames and wanted to know more about them. There is a swedish nescommunity that seemed similiar to this, hope i have come to the right place.
Well, here are the games i found (http://forumbilder.se/CDVNS/img-3910.JPG?width=150) (http://forumbilder.se/CDVNS/img-3910) Basically i want to know what people pay for them, since im probably lookin to sell them. If not here maybe in sweden.

Don't have either paypal or western union since usually sell in sweden.

Hello, and welcome to PCEnginefx! Nice score! I hope that you go back there and ask her if she has any more.
Have you checked the Sapphire to verify whether it is an original copy or a bootleg copy (http://www.superpcenginegrafx.net/sapcomp1.html)?
If Sapphire is a real copy, then the 3 PC Engine games without spine cards are probably worth around $800-1200 (mostly depending on how long you want to look for a buyer). There are probably people here who would be willing to PayPal you $800-1000 for all three. If you don't want to get set up with PayPal, then with your limited forum history, you would probably have to ship it first (selling only to an established forum member with a good reutation), and then after it was received, then the buyer could send you the money by Western Union or some other method of international money transfer.
I hope that this helps.

Just checked sapphire abit earlier, a forummember linked to a site for helping to verify that it is real. It included some kind of paperlike thingy in the instructions. Anyway, could fix more pictures etc tomorrow. For verification the buyer could also go to the swedish nesforum to look at my feedback aswell if it would help. Thanks for your answer!

I don't know. Maybe I'm too trusting. I'm usually willing to give just about anyone the benefit of the doubt until they have been proven dishonest. Just because a story is highly improbable, doesn't make it impossible. Look at syphic's major score back in July last year (http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=12179.msg235828#msg235828). It's pretty unbelievable, yet it's true.

Yeah that was one fantastic haul, no doubts.
But c'mon a japanese Darius Alpha (!), Renny Blaster and Sapphire, PLUS a Megadrive Robocop vs. Terminator, Total Carnage and Panorama Cotton, ALL of these are mostly rare games worth together over two grands easily and usually ONLY found locked up either in a show case up in Akiba's Super Potato or Nakano's Mandarake, and these alltogether found on some swedisch flea market in the used Audio CD bins of some lady? and on top of that, for 1,5 dollar each? Hello? Hello? Anybody home?
Then he also tries to pretend that he wasn't aware of what he was buying from the lady?
I say, and without any doubts, there is not one ray of truth in this whole fairy tale.
But in the end, you have to believe what you have to believe.

Wheter the story is true or not it could be possible, since i wasen't their i'll give you the benifit of doubt and i'm fairly positive you have these games, altough i could swear their was a dude on neogeo from sweden that had in his signature the exact same 3 games for sale, i was going to pm him about maximum carnage but i take you're the same guy right?
as for the story look at it this way and ask yourself the question if you would pass away and you're wife/parents were to sell off you're collection are they going to check every single item how much it is worth, i honestly doubt it mine sure as hell woulden't. I honestly doubt any of the story is true but you never know either way i'm just guessing how the lady would gotten those games haha.
Title: Re: Hello
Post by: kurre on April 14, 2013, 11:05:57 PM
I have not been on any neo geo forum. The guy i sold the games to probably is though cause he is collecting neo geo and shmupthings. Anyway, more pictures coming, only have my cell atm.
When i found the games i didnt know what it was. Almost didnt buy em either cause she was asking too much. I cant play either md or pcengine so i passed at first. Came back later cuz i couldnt let them go. Worked out à better deal than she originally asked for. You rarely see older games for à decent price at fleamarkets in sweden(imo) if you even fond any.

Here we go
Sapphire: Cd is in pristine condition, its abit dusty but in very good condition. The manual/instructions has some flaws on the back side(its like the instructions have laid above the thing that holds it in place and gotten damage that way. usually happens to cdthingys.) Otherwise in good condition. The paper that i said was in the instructions i dont know what it is. Looks like some kind of reciept or something. Anyway good condition.
Renny: Cd is in pristine condition, abit of dust and stuff on but very good condition. The manual looks like new. The round thing that holds the cd dont hold the cd as hard as its supposed i think. The lid is damaged but easily replaced.
Darius: The hu-card looks to be in very good condition. The pictures that is in the lid has a flaw. It is like the paper have moved to far and got abit bent because it has got stuck when the cdcase has been opened. Good condition overall. The lid is broken but easily replaceable.
Overall in very good condition considering it is probably used by someone.
Bardoly: The nes forum is alot like this forum, you can sell/buy from other collectors. I have done some trades at the site but not alot. havent really been in the business of selling videogames for a long time.
I've got an account at the swedish ebay swell(it is a ebay-company). Could link my account there aswell. Have actions up there now with the matching bakground as the one in the pictures i post now.

Agreed. It's patently clear he knows exactly what he has, its rarity, and what it's potentially worth.
Make a f*cking proper for sale thread or take it to eBay. [-(

Yes, well it wasnt that hard figuring out they were rare. I have had them over a month also.. I didnt write it but i went back to the fleamarket the day after to see if i missed something(i was at work, even switched my schedule so i could go back.)
I dont know if i want to sell them right here on the spot, but im considering selling(cant even play the games, would be fun to try them out tho). Concerning ebay i probably wont sell there since i havent done it before. Dont have feedback etc.
The reason i came here was to get à fair clue on the value on the games since it seems to vary everywhere i read..

Thanks for the pictures. The card with the Sapphire instructions is a warranty card, and you should keep it with the game and if you choose to sell/trade it off, then make sure that you inform potential buyers. they will want to know. It's too bad that you don't have the spine card (http://www.superpcenginegrafx.net/img/sapfakespine.jpg) with the game, but what you have is great! 8)

I think that people would like to get a link to this Swedish NES forum that you are speaking of with the user name which you use there and a link to the Swedish eBay site with your user name there as well, so that they can try to ascertain whether you are being honest or simply trying to get a rise out of us. If you are simply posting up a cool find, that's great, but if you are wanting to potentially sell these games on this forum, people are going to want to be able to trust you, and your story is quite disbelievable, because the odds of something like this happening are like winning a million-dollar lottery - It could happen, just not to me or anyone that I know.

Just thought I'd chip in here:
Here's (http://www.tradera.com/MyTradera/Feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?ftgnr=3072235) his Tradera account in case people got confused by the description. And here's (http://www.tradera.com/finding.mvc/itemlisting?ftgnr=3072235) what is on sale at the moment.
While Tradera is indeed an "eBay company" and run by "eBay Sweden", it's not actually eBay but it's own thing - even if it operates similarly. So it's not part of the eBay international market place or whatever it's called. Just throwing this out there
And yes, the "home screen" for normal Tradera users is just the feedback listing.

maximum carnage is one of the rarest and if imo the most expensive jpn megadrive retail release you can buy. I would easy pay a small fortune for a mint one! It's on par with jpn versions off wwf raw and GF boxing.

Sure i feel the same and let's be clear i'm not really trying to defend anyone in any way if that is what you think. when thinking about it their are Some things i can't really get past, living in sweden and selling in us dollars euhm you live in europe and selling in a lower currency then euro, the question is Why dollars instead of euro seems fishy to me, he doesen't own paypal after all?
If it were some rare pal games the story would have been much more believable, in all my years i went to fleamarkets and such i came across exactly 3 japanese games here in belgium with is over the course of like 10-12 years, sure i found the odd bargain here and there but they were pal games and that was like before everyone seemed to be into retrogaming.

Kazumn could you give me and estimate then, was 189dollars à bad deal or not?
Its dollar us dollar comparions cause it is dollar on ebay. Euro does not feel so close at hand for me since we dont use it in Sweden. I dont have paypal no and i have not used ebay for trades.. I've been "collecting" for over 10 years just really light. Last months it has become alot more hardcore, for example i hadnt sold any games since like 2 months ago. Anyway the games will be for sale sometime but not at the spot right now. Will consider several buyers etc. Only like 2 people have shown intrest so far.. It is à fleamarket find even tho it is hard to belive. Why would i own the games otherwise if i wasnt some hardcore pcengine collector which i aint.

Kazumn could you give me and estimate then, was 189dollars à bad deal or not?
You did the best deal ever in your whole life!!!!
Do you clown even read what people are writting in here? Carnage is probably the rarest Japanese retail game and alone worth a fortune. So tell me now how 189 dollars could be considered as a good deal?
Sure, regarded to your acquired price of 1,5 dollar for it, you did a pretty well deal. But we do all know that this is big bull shit anyway. so are the 189 dollars and all the rest.
So, why don't you make like a tree and get outta here?
Title: Re: Hello
Post by: kurre on April 15, 2013, 02:07:56 PM
Well, i didnt know it was that rare. I kinda understand more now why you really doubt the find.. I read all the posts, its been hard filtering out all the bullshit tho. People have probably found even rarer and definetly alot more expencive things in fleamarkets so get your head out of ur ass..
Title: Re: Hello
Post by: Tatsujin on April 15, 2013, 02:27:48 PM
So you gonna tell me now that someone ever before in history of video games dig a deal, and i like to quote it again "Darius Alpha, Renny Blaster, Sapphire, Max. Carnage, Robo vs. Termi, Panorama cotton" on a non-Japanese flea market in the used CD bins of some swedish lady for 1,5 dollar each?
and sure there were NO other games in that bin but these six hardcore showcase uber rarities? and since you did only buy these six and according your own testimony, you had no clue at that time of what you are buying.
if they were found in like a bunch of thousands of japanese games, and maybe not on a swedish flea market found in a used CD bin of some lady, it probablt may would be a little bit more credible.
Title: Re: Hello
Post by: kurre on April 15, 2013, 02:39:59 PM
I wasnt referring to finds of videogames, more like other things worth à couple of millions found on some kind of fleamarket. Really, i dont know where the games came from or how she got them. Asked her the day after if she had more games at home or anywhere but it was just them. Seriously your loss if you dont belive me and the story. Things like this usually get people excited.
Oh yeah by the way, it was some sega fotboll manager shitgame in the bin too...

If i say i bought the games cheap in à fleamarket people might pay less cuz they get put off, better lie would've been that i bought them for alot of money in Japan but i didnt.
Have not tried selling the games/scamming people to buy the games either..

I'm actually a bit curious now, where in sweden was this flea market located? Was it one of those they hold all the time, or was it a one-off thing at a local field/somebody's backyard/garage? :P

Every Sunday at Queen Square: Every Sunday from April to September is the flea market at Queen Square. Here, both sold and bought everything, including clothes, gadgets, toys, food, technology and music. Sundays 9:00 to 16:00, between April 4-September 26
but sunday and from april 4th on (2 weeks ago). and no such things like going there the very next day to check stuff again and shit.

Welp, if it indeed turns out to be in Malmö, then it's pretty much too far away for me to be able to check it out :-k I'll just have to keep a look out locally, I guess. Biggest find so far was an Xbox Crystal (PAL, unmodified) but that was in a thrift shop - not flea market...but biggest is right
But I digress.

yea sorry, been painting my livingroom so i havent had the time.
It was a fleamarkets that is everyday but you can pay for a table so there are new sellers kinda often. The lady have a booth there but when i bought the games by her she had a table aswell. Im from stockholm so its not a fleamarket in malmlö.
Anyway, after realising that the mdgames where superrare aswell i got kinda pissed. I gave the maxiumum carnage away for free since the dude i sold them only were intrested in cotton, and i only found information on cotton + terminator on ebay. When i think about it now i should've just kept all the games cuz it was such a sick find
