Title: WTB-Chrono Trigger SNES
Post by: Mathius on June 12, 2013, 10:32:01 AM
I am looking for a replacement copy of Chrono Trigger (loose) in nice condition w/ working saves. Please make offers.

Did the saves on your old copy die?  The batteries are not that difficult to replace in SNES games.

I have one in perfect condition myself, it was a Christmas gift (bought new for $79.99) from my friend's mother when I was in HS, but like you, it's one of the few SNES originals I wish to keep. ;) I do intend to sell off the rest of my originals in favor of Krikzz's flash cart though.

CT is one of those games that transcends being "just a game" for me. I was late to the party too. I didn't play CT until the late '00s. It holds no nostalgia yet, like Dungeon Explorer, its music fills me with joy and wonder.

Mathius, I don't own this game, but if I come across it at a yard sale or Goodwill or trade or decently price I'm getting it with the sole intention of sending it to you.  I know this is just an empty promise now, but I swear to you I will be on the constant look out for it.

Your generosity almost brings me to tears.

Dammit!  I had a spare and sold it just a couple of months ago.

Surprisingly, I've seen it in the wild in my area a couple of times lately, so if I see it (for a non-ebay price) i'll let you know.

Sorry to hear about all of the crap you're dealing with.

Thanks Rolf. Glad you guys have my back. I would have gone crazy if it were not for the people here and my GF.

Sadly I don't have the game anymore (long story, step mother sold it for crack back in the 90s), but I do have the extras like the posters and game manual for it.

I never owned a complete copy of the game. I may hit you up if I can score one soon.

Small towns breeds crack heads what can I say? Mathius, I'll have to go through my storage shed, but I'm pretty sure I still have the Chrono stuffs in there.

Sorry for the naive comments earlier in this thread, I hadn't seen your recent posts.  Sorry to hear about the loss man.  :(

Matti - if I make it to VGS (thought I wasn't going, and now it looks like I might be back on again, haha) and there's a spare copy floating around the vendor floor maybe we can talk 'em down. I'd be happy to maybe go halfsies with you and you can take it home.

Matt, on a side note, do you at least have the PS version to game on?

Don't worry about it. :)

I may have tracked a copy down. I will keep the thread updated.

A deal too good to pass up may have come my way. Jeff, your generosity is greatly appreciated and very kind.

I have the PS1 and DS versions to tide me over (even though the PS1 version is a tad stinky).

I was about ready to ask you the same question. I do have the PS1 version and I agree its pretty lamo although the far and between cut scenes aren't too bad...

I love the animation. It's the load times and emulation inaccuracies that make me rage lol

I think there was even a ova at one point...
Really didn't have anything to do with the series but kind of cool in a retro way. :)
