hey folks -
recently a friend of mine showed me Super Metal Crusher, a game I had never really considered picking up before. It's a strategy game where all you really do is increase/decrease stats for robots, then watch them fight using their own super poor AI.
It's pretty boring if that's all you're doing - but if you have it going on a second TV while you're doing something else, or at a party or something, it's actually super great. You've got about 15 seconds of decision making, then about 3 minutes of watching your robot fight successfully, or explode in a shower of sadness. It's great for social situations.
Anyway! I suspect that Auto Crusher Palladium is the sequel. It has Crusher in the name, has a robot on the front cover, and is also made by pack-in-soft. I can't find video of it anywhere though, so I'm uncertain. Has anyone played this?
thanks!!!

Hilariously just as I posted this I remembered NicoNico exists.

so there it is! seems to be in the same universe, but significantly more involved.
Anyone else played these games? Super Metal Crusher is pretty fun as a secondary experience!

You know, the creative and varied animations for each mecha is pretty nice (Auto Crusher Palladium). This is not the sort of game that piques my interest, but I love the concept of a "party game". The music seems decent (if generic) and fits the game. UPDATE: I like moody synth intro to the track playing during the Ninja VS Wyvern battle @ 13:20 !!! (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcds.png) Sadly, it quickly morphs into a generic blah. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgsad.png)
The Talos VS Undine battle: I love the HUGE rifle (long range) that Talos uses. FRIGGIN' GARGANTUAN.
STATUS: I know nothing.

Super Metal Crusher can be a great gambling or drinking game too :D

I always thought games like this and monster pro wrestling looked awesome. Yeah too hard to figure out though without Japanese skills.
