Noticed my duo system cant save! Wondered maybe i can get some help around to target why it doesnt save any games.. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you format it?
-
yeah format and clear out old saves
-
Possibly bad super capacitor. The duo uses super capacitors for its save feature.
-
Nullity, the capacitor is what the saves are stored on. if its bad, it will stop the machine from saving. The duo does not use a battery.
-
Yeah, your super capacitor likely needs to be replaced and it's pretty pricey unfortunately. Here's a photo of it (red circle):

You hadn't actually formatted it before ?? Well, you should also know that you need to turn on the system like every 1-2 months or so, that way that capacitor gets recharged. Keep an eye out to see how long your saves last. If you finish your games within weeks, then it's OK, but know that save support won't last that long unless you turn the system on every once in a while... If the capacitor is getting bad, then the save duration time will be shorter, etc.
-
Rad glad you got it going. Now play through some Ys!
-
Check again tomorrow, see if the saves still hold.
-
Will check again tomorrow! If save disappeared then dang! Solder time!!!!!
I beat ys 1/2 on duo once. And ys 3 on snes couples of times..
Thanks for the help!

SNES sucks. beat it on the Turbo.
-
Use a hair dryer on it wmac. That will teach it to not hold saves.
