Title: Namcot (sort of) represented at Comic-Con!
Post by: jasonbar on July 22, 2013, 01:55:02 PM
There were a pile of Namco arcade games at an off-site area at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend.

3 in a row generic cabs were getting no love: Bravoman, Wonder Momo, & The Legend of Valkyrie. They had LCD monitors & very generic cabs, so I wonder if they were running on MAME(?)

Anyway, I'd never played these arcade versions, so I gave them some love (in a mature & platonic fashion).

I'd guess MAME, a legit Wonder Momo PCB is very hard to come by.  The other two aren't common either.

I think they had the cabs there because of the recent Namco US manga/comix movement, right?

there is even one member on this forum from that artist crew.

Yeah, I wonder if they were promoting the new Shiftylook web comics (http://shiftylook.com/)  I've heard those guys were at other cons, and all three of those games also have comics running for them currently.

Wonder Momo and Bravoman are actually their most popular ones too.
