Title: Any pinball owners/fans?
Post by: PunkicCyborg on August 04, 2013, 10:33:41 AM
After going to a couple game cons I've been on a pinball kick. I'd like to buy one eventually but I'm just playing every game I can find. Not sure what I'd like to actually own though. Some of my favorites are Earthshaker, Bride of Pinbot, The Shadow, Cactus Jacks, Super Mario, Whirlwind, The Who, Dr Who, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Revenge From Mars, Sorcerer, and White Water.

Anyone here own one? If so post some pics! If you like pins share some of your favorites.

All Ive got is 3D Ultra Pinball by Sierra... love that game.  The Colony table is my favorite but the other two are good too.

As far as real pinball... too expensive :(  I dont have a specific favorite.

We had a pinballer at homey for years when I was about 7 to 10 years old. It was such a high-light and friend-magent..lol.

Not in a long time for me any ways  :( Still i like to visit the pinball hall of fame in las-vegas one day.The funny thing is when i was a kid i didn't care for it.

By the time i was a adult it changed, when i started to play video game version of pinball that did that it for me.Afterwards i wanted to really play pinball and id appreciated it more, when i did played a real table.Id like to own one but they cost a fortune.

I am a fan of pinball, most notably Theatre of Magic, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Black Night 2000, Elvira tables, and Creature from the Black Lagoon.

However, I wouldn't buy one.   I want TotAN, but its like 7500$...

and then comes the maintenance involved.   They're more work than my Neo Geo and Tron cabinets, and I don't even like f*cking with those.

There's a pretty solid pinball lineup at the comic/ tabletop game store by me.  I just go there to play.

That Dr. Who pinball machine is really fun.  The multiball in it was awesome.  (There's one at the game store by me!).

In lieu of buying a real one, I got the pinball arcade shit for PS Vita with like 20 tables.    I can play that while pooping.   That makes it worth it.

I enjoy pinball, but I don't get a chance to play it much these past few years.

My uncle had an awesome late 60's/70's pinball machine that I played every chance I got (15 years). It had fantastic art on it (sexy cosmic lady on a cyborg/metallic stallion) but it was sold when my uncle didn't have time to keep it functioning. He sold it in the last few years. I thought I had pictures of it somewhere...I loved the art. It was your basic pinball field: fun, with lots of tiles to smack down and a bunch of bumpers in just the spot to keep things interesting.

I never played Dr. Who but I'm drawn to it because I'm a fan of the show. The art is pretty funny (look at the mane on Peter Davison!), but I love it.

Yeah sweet Dr Who you got there Sparky. Fun game for sure and nice price, that one is more than double that now. You guys think Turbo has been gouged to hell? Pins are way worse with flippers ruining the hobby.
The Pirates pin is pretty cool too, been keeping my eye out for something like that for my sons room.

Part of the reason pinball goes up is also because of scarcity / maintenance parts.

There are less Black Knight 2000s in circulation than there are Turbobs.

Ever watch the dotctor who pinball promo
Man,farsight studio's really should have a kickstarter and add it to the pinball arcade.I think they should since doctor who is relevant again.

Just last year I was able to pick ip a working Nightmare on Elm Street Pinball Machine for $900. The guy needed money and was a 5 hour drive from me so I grabbed it up. Got the back light signed by Robert Englund also.

Also have a Japanese pinball machine. The one with tiny steel balls. Freddy vs Jason. $200 in working order.

When I read that, I couldn't stop myself from thinking that you paid $200 for Pachinko.  (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)
