I just noticed something today - Telenet's 10th CD game (TJ0010), the impossible shooter Legion, takes place in 2060, according to the manual. Telenet's 11th CD game (TJ0011), the less-impossible Avenger, takes place in 2061, according to the manual.

What is Telenet's 12th CD game? WHEN DOES IT TAKE PLACE!? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
Golden Axe. It takes place in the year 2062, folowed by Valis IV, which takes place in the year 2063.

-
yessss (actually I think Valis IV is TJCD0017 if I'm not mistaken)

(not to be confused with Valise IV which is about stacking briefcases)
-
Hmm, what year does Psychic Storm take place?

-
A time line of all in game years for pce games would actually be pretty cool

-
paranoiadragon - welllllllllllllll I can't read the kanji properly, but as best as I can guess, it's year 0092 of the "space age" whatever that means. given how japanese eras work though, it's *possible* that year 92 of the space age could be 2062, so let's pretend it is :P

(also Psychic Storm is TJCD0025, but I'm not sure they published many shooters between Avenger and Psychic Storm?)

It's so crazy and pointless I would absolutely love devoting time to it.

LEGITIMATE ISSUE: What source provides the definitive year? You know how small details get changed when porting games...I suppose two columns—the PCE YEAR and YEAR FROM ORIGINAL GAME—would work...  (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

well, if it's a timeline of all PC Engine game years, I think you can ignore the rest, right? Unless the year isn't stated by the PC Engine version, in which case you may have to go to the initial game? hmm
