Hi all,
I've been out of town on vacation for a couple weeks. Just getting back now. I brought along my TE to play while relaxing. I've never owned a TE in the past and this was my first time really playing it.
I played through Bonk's Adventure right to the end (took me about 3 hours). As the credits rolled the screen started screwing up (glitching) and then eventually went black. The sound continued on like nothing had happened. I turned the TE off, flipped it over and went to take out the batteries.
The batteries were HOT. They were so hot I couldn't hold even one in the palm of my hand. I was using standard Alkaline AA batteries. 3 Energizer, and 3 generic Radio Shack ones.
Having never owned a TE I don't know if this is normal. I played it non-stop for 3 hours before the LCD screen started cutting out on me. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this typical?

I'm surprise the TE lasted that long on alkaline batteries. Mine is 3.5"LCD and lithium battery modded. I notice the back of the screen gets hot after a while.

Were you using an actual HuCard copy of the game or a flash cart?
-
Yeah, it lasted from 9PM to 12PM before the screen cut out.
It was the actual HuCard.
-
Anyone? Please help. I'm guessing this is not normal.
-
Did you do a Cap change on it? My screen cut out from that when I first got it (no heat though) and had to change the caps. Now it plays fine.
-
If its low batteries, the screen should go white, not black. Have all caps been replaced?
-
Caps were changed by BlueBMW before my trip. I take it this is not normal? Warm batteries I could understand after 3 hours of solid play, but hot batteries, the kind I wouldn't want to drop anywhere near my inner thigh seems extreme.

Have you been drinking?

Maybe because you mixed batteries it caused issues? I always hear about the manufacture telling us not to mix two different companies batteries.
Try it next time with 6 Energizeror 6 Radio Shack and see what happens.

I think that problem might be mixing alkaline with heavy duty.

Damn that's hot. I would like to put my battery between her thigh:)

Yeah, they say don't mix batteries.

Methinks she'd be a tad unsatisfied with my AA, but how's that my problem?
-
Haha, my thoughts exactly:)
-
I never thought of mixing the batteries. I've heard of that as well, but after years of stuffing whatever batteries I could find into children's toys for the past 4 years this knowledge fell out of my head. I'll give it a try.
Oh, and thanks for the image. Made my day. 8)
