That's about it. I never really check/post at the latter four, though. I'm mostly here and at Ancient Land of Ys. Not much of a forum-person I guess (even though I run one myself).

Hey, the only reason you'd be interested in Ambrosia is if you are a fellow mac user! Have you seen the new "sketch fighter" shooter that some fellow is cooking up for Ambrosia? I think it's an intriguing concept! Sure, it's a novelty, but I am very eager to see how it plays.

Mac user indeed.

Hadn't noticed that game until now. Looks freakin awesome!

I've had a similiar idea, actually. A hand-drawn platformer. I was going to draw the levels on paper and then scan them. I only made one (small) level, it was hard to make it play well, so I canned it.  :P

I'm always thinking of unique art concepts like that for games, like the idea you suggested. In fact, my little brother came up with quite a cool idea the other night and said how it would be cool if you took pictures of this action figure we have and made him the controlable sprite in a platform game. Taking pictures of toys in a blue screen background and using them as graphics for a game would be very interesting :D .

I frequent the following, although I'm an infrequent poster:

AtariAge (http://www.atariage.com/forums/)
Digital Press (http://www.digitpress.com/)
Octopus Overlords (http://www.octopusoverlords.com/phpBB2/)
RPGDot (http://www.rpgdot.com/)
Gaming-Age (http://ga-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2)

I used to post much more (especially back during my USENET days), but in the last five years my interest in gaming (and thus posting) has dwindled considerably. Of the forums above, I seldom post at Gaming-Age or Digital Press anymore. In the case of GA the noise has gone up tremendously in the past few years, and I have little interest in console gaming which is what that forum is focused on. I continue to post there more out of habit than anything else. DP is also a lot more noisy IMO, plus I'm pretty satisfied with my gaming collection so I feel little reason to post there now. I'm still active at AtariAge because above all I'm a massive Atari fanboy. Octopus Overlords is where I go for my PC gaming needs, and since I'm mostly a PC gamer I spend most of my time there. RPGDot is great for PC/Western-style RPGs, but it's not very active anymore.

Shoryuken.com (Street Fighter/Fighting game enthusiasts)
Neo Geo.com
Digital Press
Dust Loop.com (Guilty Gear)
Sega Spetsnaz (Dedicated Sega board like PCEFX)
Famicom World (it's on the line right now, I bet it was in the mixed bag of "Just Another Nintendo Message Board" which I hoped would'nt happen because of the niche standout of Famicom and Super Famicom...)

Non Gaming
-----------
The Breaks.com - Hip Hop message board for anyone who likes tracking down original songs that have been sampled in beats.
