As per the request of a few peeps, here are some pics of the Korean Vistar 16. If anyone knows Korean, can you please translate the words under the power switch? An interesting thing I noted is that the power switch has 2 settings you can switch it to unlike the regular US Turbo.(see picture # 3)
More pics including some internal shots can be found here:

I don't think it's a dual-setting switch, I think the word below the switch means "power" and the two words on either side are "off" and "on"

Thanks for sharing all the lovely pics. It's good to learn more about this rare/odd little duckling.
-
They added a composite video RCA jack, cool. But it only outputs in MONO? You fail again Korea.
-
Very cool! Shame there is no expansion bus pinout though.

Is this the expansion bus but without a connector, meaning stereo a/v could be tapped or a CD added with relative ease?

Does the controller have a din or mini-din plug (would it be compatible with the TG-16 or Turbo Duo)?
-
fully compatible, since it is just a rebranded TG16 controller.
-
Does anyone know if these are easy to find in mom'n'pops in S. Korea?
-
Absolutely LOVE the styling of this lil guy! Nice to finally have someone post about it with more info/pics.

No, they're not. That's why they rarely pop up on eBay.
-
I love the QC of whomever's job it was to put those stickers on the HuCards. They must've really hated their job enough to eventually riot!

That thing looks way better than the US version TG16
-
Are those just tg16 cards with crappy stickers poorly stuck on the front and back? Neat, I love it. Did they achieve any success in Korea?

Exactry!

I wrote about this many years back, perhaps there's something here you haven't seen before:
http://nfggames.com/games/vistar/
At one point I had a deal in place to get one with a box, but the guy working with me had to do his stint in the army before we got it sorted. ;_;
-
I'm very curious if there are any dates on the packaging or manual... I'm interested to know how long after US TG-16 this thing was released.
-
Judging by the fact PC Denjin appears on the box and on every document, we can at least say that is was not released before 1992. I think that before that date, japanese consoles were imported in Korea.
-
The stickers on the back of those turbo chips has their import dates: April 1993.
An insert that came with the console--at least some of them anyway--shows a manufacture date of March 1993.
I know that Daewoo sold a (slightly) rebranded Shuttle in Korea. I found some photos of a Deep Blue HuCARD whose import date was April 1990.

I love that price tag sticking on the cover.
I wonder what the 126.750 price tag represents.

it's the factory price (manufacturing price?)
as opposed to the retail price...
