Title: 4DO provides 3do emu heaven
Post by: Xak on September 07, 2013, 08:50:16 AM
Finally a 3DO emulator that has joystick input (no more joy to key) though it dosnt feel much better than joy to key, i think they just integrated the actual program JOY2KEY into the emu.

Now we can play all our 3do games in HQx3 glory!!

LUCIENNES QUEST!!! the ONLY english release of a Micro Cabin game that was not fan translated! (Xak 1-3 , Illusion City)

I havent tried any 3DO emulators. How is this one speed and accuracy wise? If this one is good, I'll have to relive some of those 3DO gems like Twisted and Haunted Manor. I used to own one, but sold all my games when the system took a shit. Have been regretting it ever since.

Good, I want to meet the X Man again in The Need for Speed for a race. Also I always wanted to try that Riverhill Soft survival horror that I don't remember the name.

Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a while for a 3DO emulator that can play real discs.

Turns out that SSFIIX really is as imperfect as it appeared to me bitd. The graphics have been squished proportionately to 320 wide resolution and the color is pretty sloppy and looks like a quick 16-bit console port. I should never have taken Nick Rox's advice to trust only him that the game has "carbon-copy graphics" of the arcade.

Wait, wasn't Guardian War a Micro Cabin game(I think it was called Power Kingdom in Japan)?

Riglord Saga/Mystaria/Blazing Heroes also came out in English.

I'm surprised to hear that.  I remember reading in game mags back in the day that it was a perfect translation.

Finally got around to play Doctor Hauzer. Pretty cool if it weren't for the framerate, thankfully you can speed up the emulator's processor. Finished in an hour.

How do you do that? I was trying to play Gex the other day and I kept having bad slowdown problems.

WOW THOSE SHOTS LOOK INCREDIBLE . The 4Do graphics are sick

You need a super powerful PC for the games to run well. If not plz explain the processor to me too plz

It's just on Options > 4DO Settings... it improves the speed on some games that were slow on original hardware (Doctor Hauzer was basically a slideshow in a FZ-10 so I was forced to change the config). I'm not using any kind of scaling however, I remember that increasing the resolution or adding scaling would drop the framerate so bad even in the bios.

Here's an image (I didn't max out the processor because the game would get ridiculously fast):
