A few months ago, i picked up Efera & Jiliora, Princess Minerva, Tenchi Muyo, Burai 2 and Shin Megami Tensei all as part of a large lot on Ebay. No one ever seems to talk about these games and I've barely tried playing any of them. There just aren't enough hours in the day to sit around trying to figure out how to play 15 year old RPGs i can't read and watching cinema scenes i can't understand.
My question is, are any other these games worth my time? Is there a gem in the lot that i'm overlooking? Any comments about these games would be appreciated.

I know of a couple people that really like Efera & Jiliora, though I couldn't really get into that game myself. Burai 2 seems kind of cool, but I don't know if I'll ever try playing through all of it.

Get yourself Xanadou II. It's awesome, even in Japanese.

I personnaly really enjoyed Gulliver Boy. It is also all in Japanese, but a walkthrough exits for the Saturn Version and both games are very close so it helped me a lot.

Gulliver Boy has some really nice graphics - I just passed first port town (the Venice town).
Oooh, Xandadu II is a nice upgrade to the first. I beat the first xanadu back '94. Hehe I actually still have a few pages of text that I translated from the game. Man, walkthroughs are some much easier :D
Emerald Dragon should be played before you attempt those other RPGs you have

Xanadu was never released on the PCE. I know you're talking about THE LEGEND OF Xanadu, but it is a huge difference.

I got a few Japanese RPG's with my DUO-RX. Yawara, Far East of Eden II and something that I can't translate (it has Vol 14 on the box was made by Atlus in 1988).

And I though I was pedantic.

There are simply too many awesome games and too few hours in the day to play rpgs in English let alone Japanese. I have been interested in trying Efera and Jiloria for a while though, but I'm not sure why. I tried playing Cosmic Fantasy 3 but there just wasn't enough there to appreciate. Also the apparent lack of world map exploration seemed off putting.

The only purely japanese RPG I've bothered to finish is Boundary Gate on the PCFX. BUT action RPGs like Xanadu II, Fiend Hunter, and Blood Gear are totally awesome and worth playing through.
