Title: PCE/TG16 games with full vocal tracks
Post by: PunkicCyborg on October 17, 2013, 09:33:01 AM
I thought it would be neat to list all the games with full vocal tracks and eventually have YT links to them all. I need help compiling a list though! If you know of any post the game title and where it is in the game please.
Metamor Jupitor - ending track Super Air Zonk - ending track Final Zone II - TG16 version opening Final Zone II TG16 version "you are the best" Ruin Kami No Isan end track

ASIDE: I dig this topic because many, many moons ago I wanted to compile an exhaustive list of vocal tracks on PCE titles...but our collective knowledge (on another board of dedicated nerds) still fell short of my lofty dreams.
MotoRoader MC: (http://junk.tg-16.com/audio/MotoRoader_MC/MR_MC_Track_09.mp3 ) NOTE: Any help deciphering lyrics in MC (http://ttp://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=10799) is greatly appreciated.

SUNTEAM PAUL created an entire episode of PC ENGINE CITY PODCAST #11 dedicated to songs with vocals (http://tg-16.com/pc-engine-city-podcast.htm#11). Good stuff, if you are into that sort of trash.

BONUS: Blast from the past...these are all that remains of ancient pages on Final Zone II...I've always intended to update them, and the FZII wallpapers, but I never have...the "notes" are comments from my brother, one of the few people in the universe who actually provided any useful feedback on theses particular lyrics...I made up the titles for the US songs, of course...if you have any corrections/suggestions, please help!
REQUEST: I'd love the Japanese songs (plus lyrics) to be here as well. I never ripped the Japanese soundtrack (well, not in 10+ years)...
Let's.... CARRY ON before it's late We will not miss it all-- This chance
But my brother Mike said:
"In the third stanza, he actually sings:
Let's.... CARRY before it's late
Of course, your line sounds more natural and conversational, but there is no space or time in the song to fit the extra word "on". Furthermore, the next line is six syllables, and this would match up with the six syllable line "Carry before it's late". Actually, by adding the word "on" you have changed the meaning of the line; I just looked up the word "carry" in the dictionary, and It has a million definitions. Interpret it as you like, but "carry" can also mean "to reach or penetrate", "to keep and follow the scent (as a hunting dog)", "to gain victory for", "to hold on to and follow after (as a scent)", etc. It might sound odd, but the line is grammatically correct."
(2) Initially, I thought the song closed with:
Crush ... destroy YOUR MAN
But my brother Mike said:
"For the last line, you wrote "Crush ... destroy your man" which makes perfect sense and sounds right, but the singer actually says
Crush ... destroy RUMAN
which he pronounces almost like "Roe-man". Of course, Dr. Alif Ruman is "your man" -- according to the instruction manual, Ruman is the head of "ZOD", a secret military weapons society specializing in ultra-modern weapons."

Song for Bowie (Momoko's Theme Song in Final Zone II)
Let's put all the video links in the first post, alphabetized (or some sort of organization).
Thats what I was going to do but with the new embedded youtube vids it'll make the page take a million years to load. I was trying to add them as links but I couldn't figure that out. What do you think?

Oh also I can upload any missing titles to my youtube acct if I have the game to rip or if I can find a copy of it. Working on Metamor Jupitor right now. I might upload all the good tracks from that game cause the music is so good.

I didn't include Karuna's (3?) tracks with the rest of the extended vocals from the Kabukiden soundtrack, because I don't like them- http://superpcenginegrafx.net/misc/kabukiden_vocals.mp3
The mascot song isn't included either.

It Came From the Desert: Sea of Love (full-length) (http://junk.tg-16.com/audio/ICFTD/Sea_of_Love_Full_Version_TurboGrafx_CD.mp3)
Good god that song is awesome. Kinda reminds me of the last half of DJ Shadow's 2003 mix:
Dj Shadow - Diminishing Returns part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DPNC7ZL3bI#ws)
No joke, I love this song. It was ambitious, it took itself seriously in a goofy game, and I totally respect the folks who were involved with creating it.
It has a Chris Isaak vibe.
I tried to figure out the lyrics many years ago. I gotta see if I can find them (because I needed help confirming every line).
DJSHADOW: that was an interesting set. I wasn't familiar with most songs, lots of great stuff. Yes, the moody atmosphere of the last ~3 minutes (reverb guitar) is reminiscent of Sea of Love.
