Title: Pricing question!
Post by: Trenton_net on November 11, 2013, 11:42:27 AM
Hey everyone,

There isn't perhaps a list or price guide for PC-Engine hardware/software available? For example, a friend was interested in getting an Arcade Card Pro (Loose: $45) and Super Raiden (no-spine: $30). Is there a way for him to find out if he's getting a good, fair, or poor deal?

Your best bet is to ask us on behalf of your friend. Folks will share a fair price/going rate/complain about the gouging.

Thanks for the advice. Ok, so how much would you say those examples go for? That is, a loose Arcade Card Pro, and Super Raiden (No spine)? Are the prices I originally listed a good deal, or bad?

as much as most of us hate it, really if he's planning on buying on ebay he should just research sold listings and get an average price. Forums he's just gonna have to wait till one pops up for a price he's comfortable at and if it's lower than ebay other people are probably going to be interested as well.

$30 for Super Raiden seems decent, if condition of disc & booklet are excellent and shipping isn't inflated. Imperfections in jewel case are easily fixed (swap jewel case).

Not sure what a fair price for loose Arcade Card Pro is...

Thanks for the advice. I have really no idea so I wouldn't know how to advice on those. I'm still rather green when it comes to PC engine stuff myself.

There are multiple completed auctions around those prices (the Arcade Cards are even complete), so I'd say it's not much of a deal.

That seems decent for Raiden.  You can snag that one cheaper with some patience. (maybe $5-$10 cheaper, forum or YJP perhaps.)  I'd say overall it's a good game and getting it quickly is probably worth it.  IMO.

the ACP is a bit of different story.  prices seem to be more varied.  45 loose is okay.  If he really wants to be patient though he might be able to snag a complete one for not much more.   (I see them go for 70 -80 on eBay often, but searching sold listings show a few do go lower - didn't see many loose go for much less then 40)
