Including a nice little track from something called Gate of Thunder. Also chippage from The Kung Fu and Legend of Hero Tonma.

I still have to tell you how much I loved the last episode! The one where you are "mellow" ...

As for the new episode: YAY!

A beautiful, sexy, dynamite show, as always. :) I finally got a chance to listen to it today.

To add to your in-show commentary: I agree, IREM's chiptunes often sound a bit "harsh" and "raw" (Ninja Spirit's music and SFX seemed the harshest to me -- if you listen closely there is lots of noise / rough spots) ... whereas other developers were able to pump out lusher, smoother soundscapes.

That said, IREM's chiptunes still ROCK the PCE. Lots and lots of good stuff can be found! Perhaps IREM intentionally pursued a rougher, staccato-like style of music (for dramatic effect)?

Again, this episode was dynamite.

I never even thought about it before, but Paul's right about I-Rem's chiptunes; they just sound too rough as Steve said  :? . I suppose R-Type wasn't too bad though.

I don't know, I'm thinking that Ninja Spirit has a great soundtrack -- it's just marred by some noise / rough spots. But this is most noticeable when I put the volume WAY UP on my tv/stereo...

Vigilante has a great soundtrack as well. Really nice.

Mr. Heli -- I can't remember the tunes too well, I'd have to revisit it. Same goes for Hero Tonma.

R-type -- sweet (Both HuCard and CD!).

I don't think I've played any others...

R-Type was converted by Hudson which is why it doesn't suffer from the 'tinkly' syndrome of other Irem conversions.
