Title: Psychosis - just press pause a lot.
Post by: Paddyfitz18 on November 25, 2013, 06:56:46 AM
So I was reading through the instruction manual for Psychosis.  At the very end of it, they advise if you are having trouble getting past the second level ("cause"), you should learn how to press pause in rapid succession to “slow the action down.”  Just struck me as sort of funny and odd that they recommend doing this.  That's it.  Later.

'Tis a tongue in cheek allusion to getting a slo-mo capable controller.

Haha yeah I suppose it is.  It also got me wondering what the big deal is with level 2.  Haven't actually played it in a while, and when I did, I surely did it the lazy-man's way (very liberal use of save states).

My PCE doesn't have save states

Yeah what the hell are save states?

Sounds like some terrorist jive.

Heh - no terrorist jive intended !

Yeah I prefer using my actual Turbografx console, but there have been those past occasions I have messed around with this and that on an emulator.  Of course I have an actual physical copy of Psychosis and may very well give it a proper try.

Just use the turbo stick and activate the slow motion.

That is, indeed, amusing advice.

As folks have indicated, the TurboStick offers this feature...

...but I doubt it will help folks much.  (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

I wish my Duo had save states, so I could save a lot of states.

I wish my Duo had save states, so I could save a lot of states.

It's a rare feature on the Duo-C, only released in Australia.

Apparently I said something wrong.   I guess because I haven't been around here long its hard to tell whether some of you all are just being sarcastic (which I can take) or honestly that mean-spirited to someone you don't even know.  Either way I guess what I'm saying is perhaps you could give it a rest.  Just as a courtesy.  I would appreciate it.  Thanks.

we are usually being very sarcastic in here, which makes this place so rich of entertaining pleasures :D

Comrade, don't worry.

Soon, all will be forgotten.

Or forgiven.

It doesn't matter.

I have.

No clue.

I was reading the manual as well about 3 weeks ago and got a laugh out of that. Didnt thick 2 was that hard and sure would never think of using slo mo to help.

 Just sarcasm and jokes.  Don't take it personally.  Even if you're emulating you're OBEYing so it's all good.  That being said I love when these old manuals tell you, hey if our game is too hard, try cheating.  Level 2 isn't all that bad either, I find the later levels more frustrating.

C'mon, man, pull the stick out.  The comments about save states were clearly in jest, and it's not like this thread topic merits serious discussion anyway.

OK it took some work but I managed to dislodge the stick.

For what it's worth, you are right there wasn't much point to the post or certainly nothing to warrant any serious discussion.   Being new and all, I think my intent was just to post something benign, so as to familiarize myself with the people and environment here a bit.

Obviously I got a bit hypersensitive.  Another way to say it is, no one likes a crybaby, and I see how I might have represented myself that way.

I have since been fortunate to have a couple members explain to me a few things about getting used to the culture here and that was helpful.

"It is what it is"

Welcome back! Don't take anything any of us say to heart.  Generally, we never stopped being 12 year-olds, and our sarcastic behavior knows no bounds.  But we all love the obey and are genuinely good people once you get to know us.

And and you may have seen from recent postings in other threads, don't come here looking for a fight. :D

Just stay out of Fighting Street

Yeah glad you came back me, I liked the thread to be honest. I love reading through the manuals to pick up little things like this
