Title: 2D gaming on PS3
Post by: Nando on January 02, 2014, 03:12:06 AM
I tried a demo of Rayman on the PS3; Ubisoft has some amazing artist, and it got me wondering, are there any other standout 2D games on the system?

Now when you say 2D do you just mean graphics wise? Because street fighter 4 uses 3D characters, but the game is on a 2D plain so its technically a 2D game.

Also add king of fighter XIII to the list

ok, well then yeah, street fighter 4 is always a good one, and they are updating to ultra SF4 in a few months, so theres that to look forward to. Theres street fighter x Tekken, which i don't like, but i know a few people who enjoy it. Skull girls is another awesome 2D fighter, and then you have the blazblue games as well

I wish they did an entire game of the 2d levels in Splatterhouse.

Munchiaz - Ultra SF4 wtf? then again it is Capcom and it is Street Fighter. May have to pick that one up.

Any 2D platformers other than Rayman?   I know there's Puppeteer, but I haven't played it. While the game is "3D" it seems to have a 2D platformer feel to it.

Don't forget Little Big Planet to go with Puppeteer.

Little Big Planet is boss. I hate how they went overboard with that sticker bullshit but overall it is a very good platformer.

Indeed ultra SF IV. They are adding 5 new characters. Elena,Poison,Hugo,Rolento, and a mystery character. They are also adding a red focus that allows you to absorb more than one hit, but takes 2 meter to use it. Then theres the balance tweaks and what not, and some new stages
