Title: Supergrafx White Screen
Post by: wildo2ne on January 28, 2014, 08:38:03 AM
Guys I am getting a white screen on boot up while using my supergrafx and no game loads. I have cleaned the cartridge slot but does not work. I looked over the board today and to me it looks like one of the pins is being grounded. could you guys take a look and let me know what you think

What games have you tried? Did you try flipping the compatibility switch on the back? Yeah, the wire mode seems to be on all SGX models that I've taken apart. Others have mentioned it as well.

I am not concerned with the wire mod, I was looking at the solder job on the shield that attaches to pin 9, not sure if that should be soldered to a pin but I would think it should not be. I tried flipping the switch, I have 3 supergrafx games I tried and several hucards.

Awhile back my SGX woundn't do anything, so I took a close look and one of the big solder blobs holding on that cheap shield had cracked.  Reflowed them all and it's been fine since.
