the cd unit i traded for cant be repaired,
i killed the turbografx trying to mod it tonight,
this entire fiasco has left a terrible taste in my mouth and i dont even desire to dump anymore money into failing hardware at this point.
i will finalize this list later but in the mean time things that will be available for purchase:

What mod killed it if it's not impolite to ask? Makes me think twice about doing mods on my system myself.

i literally have no idea how, but just simply trying to do the composite video mod was too much for me on this thing. i have recapped monitors, repaired other electronics, but the solder skills needed for the tiny points to mod this system are just way too much for my shaky hands. i think ill stick to arcade machines at this point.

I wish you wouldn't give up so easily. Your missing so much goodness. I'm sure someone here can help you fix up your stuff. If you for sure are going to sell it all, I wouldn't mind buying the Dragon slayer stuff for the raffle to make it a complete copy. Hopefully you change your mind though.

roger that. this is my third time trying the turbo out, and each time its the flaky hardware that scares me away. i love the games, just the finicky hardware usually takes all the joy out of playing the system for me. i think i may eventually look into the dreaded emulation route so that i can actually relax knowing my system isnt going to die at any given time. i thought things might be different this time, that if i did the mods myself, i would feel better about if and when something did inevitably break i could fix it myself, but that definitely didnt work out how i had planned.

Damn, I am sorry to hear about the bad luck.
As the guy that traded you the CD-unit I hope you were able to A.) get your value back when selling it and B.) you don't give up entirely.
Perhaps just start easy and get an unmodified PCE or TG16... get your feet wet, then get crazy.

Man that's just mean lol. On the other hand there are those here that can fix it. There prices are quite reasonable, and I've even seen some of them donate their services just to save a unit and a fan. This is an awesome group of folks, a brotherhood if you will. Don't give up!!!

LOL… It wasn't meant to be mean. It's my way of dealing with the pain from killing my beloved TG. Mine was unrepairable.
