Continuing my quest to get the best 2D games for all the platforms I own. What can you tell me about outstanding 2D games on the system? I don't want no dirty 3D
here's what I have dug out so far from reading and watching videos online.
Lunar Knights
Kirby Squeak Squad
DQ: Rocket Slime
Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure
Jump Ultimate Stars (seemed like a cool Smash Bros with Jump characters mashup)
Super Princess Peach
Legendary Starfy
Megaman games
Any other recommendations?

You know, I downloaded it on my phone and haven't played it yet. I've got my eyes on those visual novel games, 999 being the main one. Just not sure if I'm gonna like 'em.

I just picked up Salems Secrets about the NH Witch trials of the 1600's. But haven't tried it yet.

Wow, infinite space isn't cheap

Monster tale is a pretty good metroidvania game. Its made by the same team behind Henry hatsworth. Henry is a better game though. Kirby Canvas curse is pretty good as well, but uses the stylus alot. Jump ultimate stars is amazing, but you will need a guide to play through the game.

I like RPGs, the Dragon Quest remakes and IX are excellent. Nostalgia is excellent.
Advance Wars Dual Strike is one of my favorite handheld games ever
Feel the Magic and Rub Rabbits are unique quirky games that are tons of fun.

Bangai-O Spirits
Game Center CX 1 & 2
Contra 4
Mario vs Donkey Kong 2
Ketsui Death Label

Great! Keep 'em coming. Have you guys tried Contact?

of coursche le konami arcade collection.

Check out Monster Tale.
Contact is a pretty wacky and unique RPG. Combat is like MMO combat where you auto-attack by being near an enemy and it's a little slow moving.

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games are some fun, accessible roguelikes.
Yoshi's Island DS isn't as good as the original, but is still a really solid platformer.
Pac-Pix is a surprisingly good game that people dismissed as being a tech demo for the DS. It's really original and one of the hidden gems on the system.

Kirby's Canvas Curse and Mass Attack are fun, too.

Yeah, I lucked out and got it for $20 new just a short while before the price exploded. It is a game that you really want to get new, because the save games can't fully be cleared and you can only experience the random "discovery" events a single time per cartridge.
Thankfully I discovered that EU versions aren't that hard to find and are much cheaper.

Got a link to any of the EU versions?

I much prefer Oso tatake Ouendan to Elite beat agents. I think the songs are better, and the scenarios for each song are better

EBA feels like an actual sequel. It's got a slightly improved interface and better patterns on the higher difficulties. I found that the songs grew on me quickly and that the scenarios were mostly ok, with a few being really, really good; exactly the same ratio as the Japanese one. Unfortunately, I took too long a break between that and Ouendan 2 so I lost my mad skills. I didn't put enough time into it to judge it.
My favorites are the little girl whose father died (I know it sounds mean but the failures are shockingly hilarious for the subject matter) and the "You bet, kid!" baseball guy.

Kirby Super Star Ultra is a great remake of the Super NES original. It's probably one of my favorite remakes of all time. It has enhanced graphics & adds a few more games to the mix.
The only downside is that you need two copies of the game to play most of the games in co-op.
