Hmm Magical Chase was sold in canada (french papers)?

Maybe it isn't as rare as some think.

It's almost comical to watch the price of this game skyrocket.  MAGICAL CHASE: NO LIMIT, NO EQUAL, NO FUN.

Should BIN the f*ck out of it just to see him waste his time on a non-paying bidder.

I've not seen the Canadian instructions for this game, does mean it might be a bit easier to find than thought before.  Do others who have the game have that part.?

I think the crease on the back of the box makes it extra minty/holy. Unless im looking at it goggle eyed

That is definitely a touched by Jesus crease, hence the price.

What's funny about that, is the MC rarity hypers, including I believe the inside source from TTi who gave us low print numbers and the story of most of it being destroyed, swear either that MC was only sold direct by mail from TTi in general, or that it was at least never released in Canada.

The French manual and what would justify its existence pretty much debunks those stories of absolutes.

I'm not positive on this, so don't take my word as gospel, but supposedly non-paying bids on high amounts can cause ebay to place stricter restrictions on your buying ability. Like instead of letting you rack up 3-4 non-paying bids before nailing you to the wall they just restrict your buying ability on certain auction types right away. I remember reading rumblings about it on the ebay forums. I cant confirm it, because honestly I pay for everything I win. You will just have to decide if its worth it to you. If you plan to do it, I'd recommend setting up and using a fake account.

If somebody wants to spend that much money on a video game then all the power to them, but it sets an absolutely ridiculous precedent and market value for rarer titles--which, ultimately, negatively impacts other TG collectors.

Personally, I get the most joy out of finding rare titles and accessories for a bargain than simply clicking "Buy it Now" once something I need pops up. But hey, at the end of the day we're all free to do whatever we want.

**steps of soapbox**

The most amusing part of the whole Magical Chase fiasco is that its overpriced bullshit has led so many people to see it for the mediocre game it really is.

Just wish someone would make a legitimate repro, whether it be a CD or Huey Lewis so that this dumb shite would die down a little. Then again people are kinda  ](*,) so I suppose it wouldn't do much. Hmmm...

Truth be told I would pay quite a bit for a loose US copy, but only if the timing was right. Like after drinking heavily...

 Also, turns out praying isn't a thing. I read that somewhere, so there's that.

Was totally joking for sure.  You're right, the rules have changed since a lot of people were doing this in the past.  Ever hear about the $40K for that stupid Bandai NES game that sold?  I heard the guy who won it never paid.  But people have set $40K as the standard price on it.  I wonder how many times MC was inflated like this?

This is so stupid, we definitely need a nicely repro'ed bootleg run of MC with a nicely repro'ed manual.

This way, people with the itch to have and play something that doesn't look like a flash cart, have it and play it, and people who are still spending $5K continue to be stupid f*cking morons.

When candle go out, all cart look the same.

Also, people with the itch should really visit their family practitioner or dermatologist right away. It is irresponsible to the max to risk transmitting such conditions.

lol That's ah funny.

So, I just looked at this auction and it looks like there was a sticker over the UPC.  Is that the case for most copies, or is this sticker also specific to the "French Canadian" release?

From what I've seen a lot of the French Canadian releases had the stickers.

also

This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing. Or so it says.....

This is very common for games up here.

Almost every game is rare now, re-sellers are at the highest, you cant find any decent deal anywhere anymore.

Not entirely true, be patient, yet persistent, that's the way.
