Got this yesterday for N64. Pretty cool game.

I'm not too good so far. All I really know how to do is grind somewhat, and all of my tricks end up failing.

What are some tips for a noob like me? Any way to get air and speed? How do I do a trick right?
-
				oooooh, boy.
i love this game, i truly do.

first off, if you want to go faster, hold the C-down button, then when you get to the edge of a ramp or a gap, release, and you'll gain more air.

to successfully land a trick, you have to end it straight and have the trick fully finished.
it's also worth noting that the madonna has a bit of a funny animation, so learn it.

 Cool advice!

What are some good methods to string combos?
-
Try spin + grab tricks on a quarter or half pipe and before you land back on the ramp try hitting the grind button. Sometimes will land into a grind. Also, on flat land simply try doing tricks into grinds and out of grinds into manuals into quarter pipe air spin + grab tricks.

Hope this was somewhat helpful, been a while since I played. :3

reverse footing lets you get full points for all the same combos. I cant remember if you can do the 900 in the N64 one but its hard to combo into.

Enjoy the hell out of that soundtrack. It's fantastic!

 Seconded.

I remember playing this game when it first came out on PS1. My friends and I were so into that we burned the soundtrack and skated to it. Yay!

Dude he said he has the N64 version, no CDDA for him. Well at least loadings are kept to a minimum and it's better looking I imagine.

i absolutely dominate the hawk series.

It does have a soundtrack. It's 8 songs though, and each one is about a minute long. It's all fine, though, and yes no load times.

Ok I've gotten a lot better, but I still can't get some things right.

Is there an easy way to balance the skater on a grind?

When should I do the multipliers, or the spins?
-
First tip: Play it on Playstation instead.

Then, hop right in to THUG 2.
Many people say 3 is the best because it introduced the revert which is essential for zillion point combos. But THUG 2 is terrific and has great locations like Skatopia.
