Title: TG-16 with CD dock possibly for sale/trade
Post by: Bernie on April 22, 2014, 02:19:08 PM
I sold an extra system with CD attachment I had bought on eBay (just so I could have an extra CD unit). It came with everything, including the US 3.0 system card. I gave the 3.0 card to Old Rover, kept the CD Rom2, and sold the rest on eBay. Now, we all know eBay and their weird shipping quotes. It would not allow me to select more than 15 bucks. It ended up costing me 30 bucks to ship it standard post, as Priority would have been 63 bucks. ( This came with the clamshell case too, and it went all the way to CA ) I work a new job, and i was not able to get it out in a timely manner, so the buyer is upset now. If he decides to return it for a refund, is anyone here interested in it? I will not be relisting this on the bay due to the issues I just had. I knew I shouldn't have taken it to the bay. But it is what it is. I am sure I will end up with a negative now, screwing up my 100% feedback.. ugh... The buyer is totally not being understanding, even though I kept him as informed as possible as to why I wasnt able to get it out as fast as I would have liked. Lesson learned I guess.

Bernie, could you put a link to the ebay listing?

That sucks that the seller is being what sounds to be very difficult. That's why I'm always weary to sell anything on eBay.

Bernie, just be careful with this person. Save all emails and messages related to this. I had some guy bitch about the time it took for something to be shipped even though I was in the allotted time frame. I could see this was an issue early on before he even received it. He attempted to scam me by saying it was broke and it took me a month to get the negative hold on my paypal account removed. do not refund anything and go through the ebay process even though its a pain in the ass. I basically quit selling on ebay when i had stuff to sell after that. Hope it works out.

Well, technically, the buyer does have a gripe. I took longer than I was supposed to, to ship it. It couldn't be helped, and I kept him informed, but it is what it is now.

Sounds to me like he just want's something to bitch about. I have had a few ebay customers try and pull shit like that too. At the very least, you kept him updated, if that's not enough tell to get bent, shit happens!!

Nah, I'm not going to be an ass back. We will see what happens. If he returns it, someone here will get it.

If it doesn't work out let me know as I'll be looking for a dock shortly
But, how long was the delay in shipping? If it was less than a week then the dude should unknot his panties. Longer than that and I could understand being a bit upset but unfortunately ebay tends to side with the buyer more than the seller :(

Sigh. Yeah you know I list items for a few people now and then and handle their ebay sales and shipping because they are worried about issues like this and all. It's one of those things where really unless you know you have the time to handle everything right away, don't list it for sale without specifying in BOLD that handling time may be 5-7 days, etc. Even then people will complain regardless, but they will complain less if they know there will be a delay in advance.

Bernie, cry me a river dude. I can put our conversation here from the very start so that everyone can see exactly what happened. I emailed you and didn't get anything back for 3 days. As I told you I will not leave you a negative feedback, however you are in the wrong. It took you a week and a half before you even shipped the item and you shipped as standard shipping, not as listed in the ebay auction as priority mail. I needed this for someone that was here visiting from Mexico. I bought it and they were going to pay me back for the item and were going to give me $40 to add rgb to it. But anyhow, don't worry I will not give you a negative feedback but I want you to admit that you are in the wrong here. My apologies to the rest of the forum members, this issue was being handled between Bernie and I in private.

While some of that is a problem on Bernies side, a chunk of that is your own fault too. Unless you contacted the seller prior to buying to make sure they could get the item to you within a certain deadline, no matter what shipping service was listed, you are just asking for trouble. Even then you are not factoring in issues like delays in the mail system or whatever shipping service was to be used. I have had 4 things sent to me via priority mail over the past 3 weeks, all listed as 2 day priority mail, all taking 4-6 business days to arrive due to USPS issues, so don't consider priority mail as a guaranteed time frame, because it wont always be.
EDIT: Also, Bernie, next time you list something for sale for the shipping you can avoid the dollar cap placed on items if you specifically choose shipping cost calculated by weight and location. That means you need to pack the items up before you list them for sell and weigh the package. Either that or weight the items and add a pound or two to the total weight to make sure packing materials weight are covered in the estimate.

The item was bought and paid for April 8th the item has not arrived and it is scheduled to arrive Friday that is is 1 day shy of 3 weeks.. He did not ship priority and took a week and a half before he shipped it.. If he would have shipped priority I would have got it in time even if he took a week and a half to ship.

Doesn't matter at this point, and for what its worth the odds are even if he used parcel select he paid way more to ship it to you then you paid for shipping anyway, due to actual weight and distance. He could have requested more to cover shipping cost, or backed out of the sale due to shipping quote error and ate the negative feedback you'd have left him, but he didn't.
And it seems you knew he was a member here. After no contact within 24 hours you could have contacted him here as well to let him know you were under a deadline, then he could explain he would not be able to meet said dead line, and you could be refunded.
At this point this is your option, when it arrives you can choose to keep said item, mod and resell it on ebay, or return it to Bernie. Whatever feedback you choose to leave is up to you. Either way you are ignoring the fact that on anything you purchase, if you need it for a dead line you need to contact the seller prior to purchasing it to make sure they can deliver in your required time frame.
Most modders and computer system builders know this by heart, that it is a must to do this when they have a project dead line. Feigning ignorance to that fact alone is going to earn you a ignore and a spot on a black list from modders and sellers here on this forum.
And also, Bernie, please give me this guys ebay id, via here or pm, so I can add him to my black list. Thanks in advance (You are allowed to share his ebay id publicly on forums, it wont violate ebay seller policy, you just cant post his name and address).

(Dont mind the double post, I rarely ever do them :P ) OGHUGO, I am sure at this point you are going to be compelled to run your mouth about how nothing in this situation, not one bit, is on you. In between your griping and public displays of denial, do us a favor and inbetween what ever future rants you plan to post, ponder on the small fact that you got a $15-20 discount on shipping cost, even if it wasn't a method you preferred, and that Bernie, knowing he was being raped on ebays auto shipping cost policy, did the honorable thing anyway and ate the cost and shipped the item out.

Not prior as I wanted to get the system before someone else did the buy it now from ebay, but I did contact him and told him the reason why I kept "bugging" him if he had shipped the item and told him the reason why I needed this asap. He assured me on 2 different occasions the he would ship on certain days and he did not.

I have been sent PM's by other members stating that he has done this to them as well. I have nothing against you or Bernie but if you consider this normal, that someone would take a week and a half to ship something. Then I would rather not deal with someone like that. I do not want to make deals with someone that promises something and doesn't deliver.
Anyways. I am done with this. Once again my apologies to the forum members.

Thanks Esteban, I really wanted this for my nephew but he went back home today. Perhaps you have had better luck dealing with Bernie than me and the people that PM'ed me.
So if I may, I'll hijack Bernie's thread say yes, I will have a tg-16 with cd dock for sale/trade. Thanks.

Now now, considering you have been registered since March 15, 2014, you should have known who Bernie is early on. Per your own admittance, you became paranoid another buyer would grab it via BIN, so you rushed to buy it without securing a shipping deadline prior. Now, I am not stating this excuses Bernies late shipping, that is on him, but as stated prior, this is a bad habit in general when you have a dead line. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONTACT PRIOR TO BUYING to secure a date. If the seller states they cant make it, don't buy then. Simple as f*cking that.
Concerning any pm's you have supposedly gotten from other mystery members, unless others step forward and actually post of said matter, that statement carries no weight at all. If anyone actually did do those pm's, it is pretty f*cking gutless of them to go around in the back ground airing their own supposed complaints with a noob. This is not f*cking ancient Rome backstabbing drama. If you got a problem with a seller, contact them here, and if you cant resolve it in private, then f*cking post about it so others know the seller is being problematic. Grow some damn balls already
And why do I even doubt said pm's were actually sent anyway? I cant count how many times new people around here have said that same old crap when they get into a conflict with an established member here. "Oh but I had countless members pm me complaining too". Yet said members never step forward to confirm and validate these supposed complaints. Yeah, sure. That's basically insinuating that we have countless people here with no god damned spine, too afraid to air the grievance and work it out. That is not how things really play out here. If you were a long time member here and said that, I might give pause, but with below 20 post to your name, I think not.

Oh wait, why cant you just ship it to him back in Mexico, or wait till he comes to visit again? What kinda f*cking uncle are you? Instead you opt to flip it? If so do you plan to sell it for what you paid for it, or are you going to attempt a flip for profit? (shugs)

Shipping to Mexico, really? That would basically be like throwing it away.. basically.. it will never get there.. I speak from experience here.
Sell it for profit.. If I will sell it, it will be moddified and I will be asking for the cost of the system plus my work that will be done on it.. LED logo, region mod with green/red LED indicating region, RGB on the cd dock.

Lets face it, you are full of shit. There never was any nephew. You could pay and ship it insured. It would get delivered, or you'd be refunded by USPS if it was lost. I know this, you know this, and everyone else here knows this. Just as well as shipping it to Mexico, you could hold on to it for him until he visits again. Save it as a birthday or xmas gift or whatever, But again, existence of said nephew is doubtful. The odds of you being some kind of wanna be modder/reseller for profit scum though, now those odds seem to be high.
Thanks for confirming it for me, by ignoring how you are getting a huge shipping discount, bitching anyway, not being thankful Bernie honored his part of the deal and ate shipping cost, and by you making up shit as you go about mysterious pms and dead lines for magic nephews from Mexico that you no longer care to give systems to. And also, for posting prior proof of you being a reseller:
Modded my TG-16.. Here is a pic.. oh, it's also has a region mod and its for sale on ebay..
I could probably waste some time and see if you managed to resell a few modded systems for profit on ebay via your seller history, and see how much profit you are trying to reap out of this, but meh, I will pass.
What is the lesson here? Resellers love to whine when items dont arrive fast as they want. They always love to complain and cause grief and sometimes try to get discounts with claims of "its for a gift for so and so, and now its too late". In reality they really just wanted the item to arrive faster so they could flip it faster. It's all about making that quick cash. f*cking lame.

You may have to log in for this one, but it shows what all assclown has been bidding on and attempting to win for his resell schemes: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidItems&userid=OGHUGO&completed=1&all=1&rows=200&sort=3&_rdc=1
He bought a another TG system right after buying Bernies. If his nephew was real, and this shipping issue legit, he should have already had another system on hand to give to the nephew, regardless of Bernie's delay. Seriously guy, did you honestly expect no one here to dig this shit up on you?

Well that's the thing about the internet. you can't really proof much. what do you want, ticket stubs flight numbers, unfortunately I will not be providing those to win a forum discussion. Bernie knows as I messaged him with this. If I have an extra system, and I put in the work to mod it and restore it, and there is someone else that needs it why not resell it? I did not know about the "extra shipping cost" until today. mind this is been 2 and a half weeks in the making.. If he would have said i need more money for shipping then I would have either forget about it or have given him the extra cost depending on what my nephew wanted to do. But that never happened. Look, I don't know what else to tell you, I was trying to take care of this in private with Bernie but he decided to make this public by opening up this thread. And as you said it.. people that don't speak up and do things behind people's backs and are too afraid to air the grievances, work things out, have no damned spines.

Funny how the internet works, huh? Archives, archives everywhere.... Pretty clear moron that you made the nephew shit up. You can drop the charade now. No one is buying it.

Right ProfessorP.. I do mod work, I buy items, mod them and resell them. He wanted the tg-16 with the cd attachment, I was going to give him one of my white cd-roms2 for it until he was able to get a tg-16 one. tg-16 will not go on an Interface unit and vice versa.. I got a tg-16 but no cd-attachment.. anyways believe what you want to believe. the truth is out there.

Sure sure. And yes, I agree, the truth is out there. It has been posted. You are full of shit. Just a scumbag reseller. There is no nephew. And IF there magically was, I'd pity the kid. Who would want a useless sack of an indian giving minimal effort uncle like you anyway? I mean seriously, how would that play out exactly? "Oh sorry kid, the TG with the doc station didn't arrive, but I do have this one here without a dock station, But since I cant supposedly give you one with a CD drive I dont want to give you one at all..." Yeah.....

Also, I'm not sure whats worse here. Charging what seems to be $22 after shipping for less then $4 worth of parts, or the fact that 68 people were stupid enough to buy into that as opposed to simply buying the parts on their own and taking 5 mins to build it themselves..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/NES-101-video-add-on-board-for-top-loader-Video-Audio-out-NES2-/170904749669?pt=US_Video_Gaming_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item27cab78665

Sure, I have no shame in my game. I buy, mod and resell, that allows me to buy the games and stuff I want in my collection.. with the prices the way they are you need to be able to afford what people are selling the items for. I love the tg-16/pc-engine and I am glad I am in this forum. If I can provide a service that people will love at a reasonable price and get the games and stuff I want to get while doing it, why not.. As you put it, you also sell stuff and sell stuff for other people so what's wrong with being a reseller... If you look at the prices of the items I have bought and look at how much I sell them for they are well wroth the price of the mod and clean up that I do to them. but the god honest truth is that that system was going to be for my nephew. You can believe me or choose not to. The items I sell ship out with in 1-2 days.. why? I mod them and have them package and ready before i put them up on ebay.. I would think that is the smart way to do it, as the item sells. You will have a chance to ship it out as it is already to go. anyhow.. all this and Bernie has not said a peep..

Bernie doesn't have to say shit at this point. You tanked your rep on your own by not knowing when to shut the f*ck up and calm down. He admitted he was at fault for shipping late. His only concern was you would return the item and leave him bad feedback, which people JUST LIKE YOU are known to do.
I would have had no problem if you were a "simple" reseller. I have no problem with resellers in general. Most tend to have a code and stay honest, and many have done this community a great service over the years, by passing savings and services on to this forum amongst others. But the fact is you are a lying piece of shit, and continue to try to do it to justify your behavior.
No one here is denying or making excuses for Bernie being a late shipper. Regardless of that though he did eat shipping cost and honor the sale. So far he is still in an honorable light.
You on the other hand have operated under deception up until the point that you were exposed. You wont be staying a part of this forum for much longer when you operate under clearly false pretense, and lie about imaginary family members and deadlines for supposed gifts to them to try to justify your own impatience and ungratefulness. And just a pro tip, people don't like selling to full fledged ebay flippers here, which you were busted for and then fully admitted to being.
The only thing more insulting then what you have done here is maybe the fact you managed to rip a bunch of people off with your jacked up cost on the parts for the Nes av mod. I mean seriously, what do you charge per hour for your "mod service and general work", $17-$20 an hour? Are you trying to dethrone Neotropolis or something by seeing who is the bigger knob? I am not impressed with your prices at all. Reasonable they are not. You just manage to find suckers who buy into it is all. It's really lame. People like you taking a dump on this hobby to further advance your own collection and fuel your never ending greed. Pathetic.

Don't know if you were reading the entire thing but yes a lot of stuff.. the tg-16 with the dock rgb mod.. and my white cd-rom2 system that he is giving me the money i paid for. he was going to refund me the money I said for the system and $40 additional to cover my mod and cd-rom2.. plus my nephew is not a young kid, hes 28, a gamer and knows what things cost. Also through out the years I have given them more than my share of systems/games..

Well, I never lied. The system was meant for my nephew. You said I was a reseller and I admitted to buying modding and reselling the systems. Did I lie? Ask Bernie, he can confirm that I told him I wanted this system for that reason..

I havent't said a peep, because I was sleeping getting ready for the job I am headed to here in a bit. Also, I did not make much public. I stated what had happened, and gave no ebay IDs. So, you chiming in is what made it public. I also stated that I was in the wrong for shipping late, as it couldnt be helped. I'd also love to know who else says I have done this to them, because I cannot remember ever having a situation like this, and I have done a lot of trading on here.
Bottom line is this. I took longer than expected to ship you your item, and I did keep in touch as best as I could, PLUS gave you my user ID here so you could rest assured I wasn't trying to scam you. I have told you I am sorry, and there is nothing else I can do at this point. I have let you know, if you want to return the system, I will refund you in full. But, your eBay response to me was that you wanted to keep it, and this is the response I got.
Quote
Look dude.. First of all, You didn't do me any favors. I bought the unit from you on ebay, paid what you asked for, I did not try to have you lower the price or change anything on your auction. As stated on ebay, the transaction that is made there is basically a contract. You sell something and you put what you will do once the item sells. Well the item sold, you took a week and a half to ship the item and you did not ship it as you stated you would on ebay. I am only stating what YOU put on the ebay auction and what YOU did not do. I asked what we could do about this and you tell me to send it back.. that's not really what I was looking for and not really want I want to do. You said you kept me informed. I sent you the first email and didn't get back to me for 3 days. First thing I said.. I don't want to be a dick about this. I care about my feedback and I am sure you do too and I do not want to give you a negative feedback for this and I wont but this is something you caused not me. All I am asking is what are you going to do for me?
So if this means you want more money from me, forget it. At this point, you have two choices. Return it and I refund you, or just negative me. I am sick of dealing with it at this point.

Yeah, f*ck him for that. He said to you exactly what I told Herc I was betting he said when you posted he was giving you issues. Garbage lying, borderline scamming, retarded as f*ck all reseller trying to ride one small issue seeing if he can break you, trying to use it to milk out of you extra money or whatever back, when you already paid way more then you charged on shipping. You did enough for him already.
You know what too, report him to ebay. Submit the pm to Trust and Safety. Ebay only requires you to deliver the item as described, not give him extra, and they take that shit very seriously when people try to extort extra out of sellers, via insinuation, demands, feedback extortion, or otherwise.
If he leaves you negative feedback be sure to contact them again, and point out the message he sent to them again also, and explain your situation in full, along with the fact that you paid double what he paid in shipping to make sure the item got to him. Odds our they will then remove the negative. They are not going to side with him over Priority mail shipping after you show you paid double to ship it and they see that message he sent asking for extra.
And to you OGHUGO. Your garage, you in your car, garage door shut, hose running from muffler to the inside of your car window with you behind the wheel waiting for the big sleep. Leave a note to your magical nephew that he can have all your Turbo wares on your way out. Problem solved. Good game.

What Hugo fails to realize, whether Bernies wrong in any part of this or not, is that people have shit to do and we're not all running businesses on ebay. Businesses on ebay f*cking ruined it for people who just want to off load some stuff by making people who have to work get to the post office immediately cause someone is going to die if they don't get their f*cking video game next day air. Now you're some incorporated f*cking business that can be ruined by a few people who just want to bitch. Like professerson said, don't make plans around receiving shit in the mail. That's the most idiotic part of this because I feel like this doesn't even come up if that wasn't going on.

Its not that elaborate schweaty. Don't over think it. The guy was lying about the situation with the nephew. He is a fairly crappy reseller. He didn't let anyone on this forum even know about that reseller shit anyway until I busted him for it. And yes, he tried to give Bernie the shake down. That's 3 strikes. Nuff said.

Ebay rules allow for shipping within 30 days. Bernie met that standard, and "will usually ship within 3 business days" does not mean "will always ship...", so hugo has no legitimate claim for relief. Sure it woulda been nice had Bernie shipped immediately, but shit happens. Get over it and be happy that you got the Turbob and dock for relatively cheap.
P.S. - Was anyone else anxiously awaiting complaints of hairdryer damage?

For them to be one and the same, Fenix would have to have brains enough to wield a soldering iron.
Since we are speculating here, maybe a magical nephew smuggled in from Mexico now and then to do some solder iron labor?

I was late getting it out, and even though I could not help it, its still my fault. Shipping raped me big time, and I dont think ANYONE would have went with the 63 bucks for Priority. oghugo told me he could have gotten it all in a Large Flat Rate Box. That just makes me laugh out loud...seriously... While in the end I am wrong for my late shipping, I did get it out. He had plenty of time to tell me, NM. I woulda been fine with just refunding it. But to refund him more money, knowing all he is going to do is flip it anyway? No thanks. For what its worth, I would have done just that if I wasn't approached with such a greedy attitude. Anyway, I am done with this. I just answered his asinine PM, and I wont be conversing with him anymore. I fully expect a negative or neutral or whatever. I dont give a shit at this point. I can bet your ass people will think twice before dealing with him though now. That is YOUR doing oghugo. I would have never given your name out in public, and like I said in my PM, your ID is protected from everyone accept the seller. You chiming in here made your name public, so dont point that one at me.
EDIT: And it appears it was delivered today.
It def is not on you. He buried himself. Don't sweat it anymore. What he did wont soon be forgotten, by anyone here anyway.

I nominate this thread for Hall of Shame.
It had all necessary ingredients...stewing in a tangy marinade for *just* the right amount of time.

This is the part that got me "All I am asking is what are you going to do for me" That is dollar signs in his eyes for sure.. Haha.. You said you were sorry Bernie and that would be good enough for most people.
And ya who is this person or people that pm'd this guy to give support? Sounds like a farce for sure, and as prof has said - so many guys that get in trouble suddenly have silent support groups behind them.
The thing is the story is so typical by the buyer that even if it is true it just sounds like phoney bolonga.

(Law & Order voiceover)
In the hobby of collecting and playing TG/PCE/Duo games and consoles, the participants are supported by two, yet equally important groups:
The individuals who uphold and maintain the dignity of NEC consoles out of well-earned respect; and the individuals who weed out loser asswipes that are in it purely for profit.
This thread was one of their stories.

I don't get what all the fuss is about. There were a couple minor errors made, nothing fatal. Both sides of this issue are trying to hash out how to go about making themselves and each other "square" in their own minds. It's a little messy, but sometimes stuff just is. Not sure why ProfProf is frothing at the mouth over this in his usual, overblown fashion. Just need something to rant about occasionally or something?

Maybe you missed the part about trying to give Bernie the shake down for extra cash, the deception about being a flipper for large profits, or the obvious lies about the nephew. If you think attempting a shake down is "hashing it out", then I don't know what to tell you....
Also, don't confuse frothing at the mouth verbal violence with trolling a$$holes. There is a clear difference. Guy wanted to be a dick, he got curb stomped with a bit of hard core trolling. Seriously, you are not that new to the internet, you should be able to tell the difference by now......
Also, stop trying to ruin everyone's fun here. f*cking Debbie Downers, I swear....

Everyone here knows Bernie is an a$$hole and that the Professor is always wrong when digging up Nazi dirt on outsiders.
