Hello! I'm new to this forum so I thought I would post a formal introduction. My name is Jim and I got back into retro gaming/collecting about 3 years ago. It started when I decided to dust off a non-working NES that was sitting in my basement and repair/mod it. I was hooked back in ever since. Shortly after that, a few of my buddies who also started collecting asked me if I wanted to do a YouTube channel documenting our adventures and that has been a blast as well.
I grew up with a 2600, NES and Genesis. I honestly never even heard of the TurboGrafx let alone know anybody who had one until a few years ago. Once I read up on the history of the console and what it had to offer I decided to buy one. I finally got one with the original box about a year ago and fell in love. The only downside is it is extremely difficult to find games/accessories for it within a 300 mile radius of me. Luckily the internet has helped and I've found some good deals. My TG collection is a modest 25 games and 2 of those are CD games.
I'm really into modifying old game hardware by building custom consoles and I make NES reproduction stuff. Anyways here are some pictures of a few items I've done
This is the first console I ever modded. Pretty basic, stereo mod with mixing, lockout disabled new pin connector and the body and LED stuff.

This was a dirty yellowed SNES I found at a thrift store and felt it needed a new lease on life.

This is my personal NES. It's a hybrid dual cart slot setup. It plays NES and Famicom games and even works with the Famicom Disk System. Stereo mod, lockout disabled and extra Famicom sound channel was added. I also recently RGB modded it with the new boards out of Australia.

This is the Sega Nomad I recently modded (and have listed on the bay). New LED backlit screen and internal lithium ion rechargeable batteries. I actually found an R.C. car charger that was the perfect size for the batteries I used.

Last but not least is a busted TG16 I got fixed up and region modded. Bought a CD dock and power supply for a good deal and stole the CD ROM2. I plan to RGB mod and do the power LED mod. I also bought all the caps needed to recap all of the equipment so it will all be going under the knife soon.

Welcome, Mister! You seem to have some talent, hmm yess, hmm yess.
-
Welcome, comrade.
-
Thank you all for the kind remarks
O_O
Welcome! And... Holy shit! Can't wait to see what kind of crazy mods you put on a turbob!
mod suggestion: a turbob that transforms into a mech and has real lasers, neon underlighting, a giant wing, and spring loaded missiles!
I am being completely serious. From the looks of it, you have the skills to make this dream come true.
The neon and giant wing should not be a problem. I should be able to find all needed components down the "ricer" aisle at Autozone. But, if I did that I may be tempted to slap APC stickers all over it too

Holy butts i would invest some money into that Fami-Nes. Not only is it a great idea but it looks fantastic!

Welcome Jim, looks like you have a lot of creative talent for console modding.

I love the little USA and JPN flags on the turbo console. Nice touch!
-
Whoa, awesome work on the mods!
As these machines age and are left forgotten by the companies that made them, it's good to know fans are talented enough to service and modify them well into the future =D

Said by others, but I will say it too, that Fami-Nes combo is awesome looking.
