Got an extra lose kunio kun Dodgeball and every time I insert it in to different systems I get a white screen. I already tried to clean the contacts and nothing.
Do you guys know of a way to get that going ?
Thanks.

Lemy know if I can help, I got a guy locally that has fixed other carts for me an revived my Metal Slug X. Hu Cards are indeed a horse of a different color but if you can bare to part with it for a while I can try to have it fixed.
What have you tried to do to fix it?

game is not worth trying to fix its a cheapie. buy another loose to replace it
-
Mail it to mexico

Microwave works good too. You just need to test different time frames to see how long your particular microwave takes to reflow the solder.

My nephew can fix it. Ship it to me Priority.

Funny guys.. I'd like to inform you that all issues have been taken care of. Bernie and I have squashed our disagreement. It was never about money as people in the other thread kept saying. Things got blown out of proportions.
I've heard that applying heat with a hair dryer will reflow the tiny internal solder points which have likely developed micro fissures. People have had good results positioning the hairdryer in such a way that it can be left unattended. 10 minutes or so should do the trick.
Thanks nullity, I will try that.. I know this is only a $4 game but still if I can fix it and find a home for it for someone that needs it, why not.
I will post results after I get a chance to do it.

This would need to be heated to at least 190C for it to reflow, without melting the plastic...
If this now is the problem to begin with.
Most non working are just oxide and corrosion on the gold connectors, the ones that does work after a really hefty cleaning is plainly electrostatically damaged.
Second to that most hueys does not have solder of any kind in them (those few with batteries does), as there are no components inside to be soldered, just copper with a unusual thick layer of gold (gold plating) leading to the chip which is bonded, and the bonding wire is about 0.015mm in diameter for each leg, and as it's gold ultrasonic bonding can't be made, it has to be heated when originally manufactured like welded and gold needs around 1050C to melt.
Voltage and current spikes can also electronically damaged them.
Horror story, if a 7805 in a PCE, TG16 or DUO burns in the wrong way, making in short too out, 9-10v will be passed threw and burn nearly every circuit in the system and hueys circuit, and it could do it in a blink of an eye, and you would not even understand it, testing out every game you have until you think, ok this system is dead, but so would your games....

Trying to understand what you just said.

These ideas has been brought up on forums before, and with the RROD of the 360 and even PS3 sometimes people try to bake everything these days, everything not working just bake it, any how..
No idea what Bernies hairdryer incident is, I seldom travel outside the realm of the Repair/Mod,
so enlighten me it sounds like fun.

Actually,
Bernie cleaned his TURBO DUO
Bernie was impatient, and decided to use airflow to finish drying it fully
Bernie forgets to use the COOL option
Bernie walks away for like 2 minutes, returns to find a melted hunk of shit
In closing, Bernie is a dumbass... hence my little saying under my avatar... :)

I still want to know who OGHUGO got PMs from saying Bernie was a bad seller/shipper on this forum... :?:
-
From his evil twin or other useless shysters, no doubt.

Only the plastic is melted? PCB still not inside? just in need of a new casing?

Yes, it was just the shell. I threw everything else out. :) Hell with it.

Odds are he can help you fix that hu-card right up. :)
With 20 pounds of hot glue.

Short answer, there are no replacable parts in a HUEY so only cleaning and drying count
-
My copy of New Adventure Island does this. If I apply a little downward force to the card while its slotted it works just fine.
I wedge a small piece of folded paper under the lip after the card is inserted to play.

Shifting the HuCARD might have the same result? Maybe? Without the downward force?
Of course, use any method that works. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.html)

No shifting it doesn't work unfortunately. The pins on the Hu are pretty worn down and damaged, they slightly sink into the card. Someone must have tried to clean the contacts with something hella abrasive.
-
The plastic could have warped or something. Maybe left out in the sun?
I had a copy of world sports competition once where I had to put a piece of tape on the bottom of the hu card so it would push the pins up high enough to make contact. Otherwise it wouldn't work. Pins also looked way to low compared to other cards. I always wondered if it was a manufacturing defect or something.
