EDIT: I will explain this better. I don't care what women are doing in gaming. I only care what I and people I know are doing. And to add to that, the last time I ran into a woman player, a supposed pro player at that, was on Hawken, some chick named FunnyBunnie or some shit, who kept saying we should know who she was because she was a pro player and was going to blow us away.
I had curb stomped her ass on 4 matches in a row and started verbally ragging on her for being such a drag to her team. Seriously, she was just doing nothing, no kills, etc. I'm not sure if she would have even qualified as average. I have a feeling she was probably some clan whore that gets carried by teams.
Anyway, she started bitching and threatening to tell her supposed bf, some other player named "cond0m", and also to report me to admins or whatever. This is not the first supposed "pro gamer girl" I have seen, let alone the first one I have seen to behave that way, so thanks, but no thanks. I don't need a 80 min film about them.

Nothing wrong with enjoying Farmville. It's just as much of a game as COD, Mario, or Cadash. Studies show that women tend to like games where they can customize things; it doesn't get more "customizable" than games like Farmville.

First of all, I don't call them a "gamer girl", I call them a "gamer". There is no need to add the "girl" part. Second of all, please get your terms straight. :P Whether or not a game is quality has nothing to do with it being hardcore. Plenty of hardcore games suck; plenty of quality games aren't hardcore. Farmville isn't hardcore but it's a rather high-quality game and it's incredibly popular. A lady doesn't have to bang hookers in GTA or go questing in Cadash to be a gamer... she just has to play games. Lots of "new" gamers call us retro gamers "not real gamers" too, don't forget... and those nooblets wouldn't stand a chance in hell against the classics like Ninja Gaiden or Battletoads.

Wasn't Caitlin Oliver the Splatterhouse World Champion for about a day? It was cool that some of us at Octurbofest were there to see her make that record, but it was *quickly* beat. Maybe she's regained the title and I missed it. Either way, its pretty hawt that she made it, but if it was quickly retaken (by the original champion iirc) then does that really make her noteworthy? If I got the high score of some game for a day and then the original high score owner took it back, would that make me noteworthy?
It's been a fun day and I'm talking out of my ass right now... Maybe this is all a useless post. Feel free to ignore. :D

The Splatterhouse record belongs to a Japanese, and it's about 5 times higher then the Twinf*cks record. As always they ignore Japanese records, in this case its because they consider the Japanese record to be exploiting and not legit. Which is just rolf. The Japanese record was attained because the game has an interesting feature, if you let timer run down a double-ko with the final boss is possible, meaning you get the huge bonus for killing him, but then go back to the start of the stage. Repeat, though there is a limit as life extends are finite.

I just watched the trailer and legitimately fell asleep for a bit. Regardless of my forthcoming opinion, this looks really boring. A trailer is supposed to get you pumped for a movie, I just saw the Godzilla trailer a few minutes ago and I am pumped to get to the theater. This trailer was poorly produced and awful. If the movie will be just talking heads like the trailer that is lazy filmmaking. Look at Ken Burns and how he can make historic topics exciting, none of that is here.
In my opinion there is nothing worse than this junk which shows inclusiveness for "X gender" or "Y race." Until we stop making a point of people's genders, race, etc., we will never truly be inclusive.

I think I was a little harsh on Caitlin in my previous post. (Thanks, beer.) Setting the record is way awesome and she's clearly a gamer. Someone ought to get her to join the forums! I remember reading an interview after she broke the record that she grew up playing the TG16 version.

If you play games, you're a gamer. It's just a broad term to indicate someone who plays games. Subcategorize it to your heart's content... retro gamer, hardcore gamer, casual gamer, lame gamer, etc. Subcategorizing gaming based on the type of game the person is playing is fine, but subcategorizing gaming based on something completely irrelevant is stupid (ie. girl gamer, black gamer, Martian gamer, etc).

Honestly i wish there were less. They call way too much attention to themselves and the fact that they are female. They are irritating in stream chats such as twitch. They are constantly offended by everything that everyone says and complain about it. This is why we didn't want them in the tree house when we were kids.

I like Caitlin, just not in the way nullity does. :P I think she's a rather cool person, and not because she has boobs. I respect her for what she says and does, not for what she has under her clothes. I don't give special treatment or "likes" to someone just because society demands that they wear a bra.
