(Chosen by nullity)
Who doesn't like Galaga? It's a cornerstone game from the golden age of arcades. Galaga '90 is actually a pretty neat little update of that original that has more to offer than a few pretty graphical upgrades. It's still very old-school, though...and that's the way we like it, right?
By all means, post your high scores, but you'll have to forgive me for not making a list in the OP. Sorry, but I don't want to transcribe your TV pictures and go bugging people for more info because they forgot to list the stage they reached or what difficulty settings they used. :P
Anyway, if you haven't suggested a GOTW yet, now is a great time! If suggestions dry up, we'll do a reset, and everyone who has suggested one so far will be able to suggest another.

This is a game I'd like to love, but I can't. I like it quite a bit, but it hasn't clicked with me. Maybe it will later, it has happened with other games before (even with themighty Air Zonk!).
There's quite a bit of love for this one everywhere though.VGC gave it a A+
May I suggest Legendary Axe? Its jungle environment goes well with summer

First try ever: 92,860 (single/2 remain)

I played this a couple times before, but only in the arcades. Never played the PC Engine version until now, so I still haven't learned the "Galactic Dancing" patterns. Still, my score was 122610 with a 58.3% hit-miss ratio.
-
Things I like:
-Multiple paths
-New types of levels that add variety
-Good scoring system and risk vs reward as well
-The game still has the addictive Galaga gameplay
Things I don't like
-Nothing I can think for at the moment
-
Every time I play this game I end up losing interest soonish and start playing something else. I bought it because it looks pretty and such, but I'm horrible at it or some such things.

Nullity chose it how fitting. My turbo art to be submitted was a hucard holder for galaga 90, with a 3d art (like the postcard kind), with the firework like explosions of the game in the background and the nullity's avatar guy in the foreground haha. Too bad I had to settle for a lesser version of my hucard holder vision since I suck.
Anyway, game on!

It's an interesting game to be sure. I liked Galaga a lot as a kid but for whatever reason Galaga 90 never seemed to retain the same magic in my head. Compared to some other shooters like, say, Blazing Lazers, the gameplay feels limited.
At the same time, Galaga 90 is good at what it sets out to do and be a successor to the original. I picked it up maybe 10 years ago but until today I don't think that I've played it more than just the afternoon when I bought the game.
I think my favorite two things in the game are the firework effects some of the enemies have when they're destroyed and the short little song at game-start from the original Galaga.
I'd like to suggest Dungeon Explorer for an upcoming week. I haven't played it in a long while and have been looking for an excuse.

I actually just got this game today. In my second try I managed 117,720 and Stage 11

Esteban I'm still waiting for a new turbodoodle. There's no excuse now that our friend from DoxPhile has hosted a turbo art contest!

I love this game. I was playing it earlier today on the Express! No pics, though. I'll try to spend some more time with it this weekend to see if I can get a decent score. :)

#-o I'll have to try again and not hold down fire so much when there are not any enemies on screen to get a better percent...

Nice score. 4x mine, I know I can do better, but damn, I have a bit to go.
