Title: Who is your favorite community repair guy?
Post by: Ninja16608 on May 20, 2014, 03:59:35 PM
Who is your favorite community repair guy?, Why?

So far I have only had dealings with one person, Keith Courage, he gave me some free advice on how to get a gear unstuck. He could have been a douche bag and said "hey you need to send that to me for repairs" and charge me just about anything he wanted. Instead he answered the question and I followed his lead. I have never dealt with a problem like this before and was stumped. Now I am no where near that stupid to fall for something like that, but some new guys might. So kudos to KC for that. Based on what I have read about him I would recommend him for the services he does provide. Not to take away from anyone here just my thoughts.

Let's here your's

Lots of us repair guys help each other out from time to time with things as well. I've had great dealings with Turbokon, thesteve, blueBMW etc...who all do great work.

Seconded.  I've had work done by Keith Courage, Turbokon, thesteve, chop5, and BlueBMW and have been happy every time!  I hope I'm not missing anyone... :)

I figured as much, some might know better about a certain area maybe. while someone else is a crack shot with the laser tuning etc... I am sure at one point in time or another I will have some dealing the others here.

turbokon has done a couple fantastic jobs for me over the years.
But honestly, I would trust any of them.  Never have I heard one complaint on the boards about their work.

^^This.  Except that Keith Courage has done some work for me, but as stated, I've never heard of any complaints about any of them.

Do we have to choose? So many awesome people. Beemer has bailed me out of a few jams,   chop brought my cd drive back from the dead and Steve has given me super helpful advice when I was stuck. I've never had Keith do any work, but he's been a pro anytime I've inquired about anything, I wouldn't hesitate having him do work either.

Agree that I dont want to pick a favorite, because everyone has done good work.

I will say Chop popped my community repair cherry and has been doing great work ever since.

Beamer has also been there to help me in the past, so a shout out is needed there as well.

Awesome guys. I know they are all good, hell we would have heard if not. You don't have to choose a favorite. It's just awesome to know we have these people to get us out of jams :-)

I think all three of these guys gave me some advice (Keith Courage, Turbokon, and thesteve), but I've done all the work myself. Repairing my Duo-R myself was an enjoyable experience, compared to fixing my Neo Geo AES.

Had my Duo re-capped by KC following the audio problems it was experiencing.

Going without the Duo was pretty damn hard, but I had my Core Grafx II to fall back on. After a week or so, KC shipped my Duo back to me and it sounds great again.

Thanks again, KC.  :)
