I stopped by a local retro game shop today and was pretty surprised to see one of these on the shelf.  I felt the price was a little steep, is $60 what these go for now?  I don't recall TZD ever selling these, were they phased out early in the system's life?  Do we know what they originally retailed for?  just curious i guess.

When I worked at Electronics Boutique back in the early 90's we had them priced at 9.99 or 14.99.  Can't remember....its been awhile.

i passed on it but would be happy to pick it up for anyone.  i wouldn't say the box would make a great scan since it's got some crinkle damage and rips, but then again...who knows when another one will show up.

I feel like this is a haggle situation, $60 bucks for a cd rack?  It only looks like it holds about 12 games, too.  I'd try to talk the guy down.

LOL that's what they're going for now?  Mine was 5.99 at EB.  It's what I keep my favorite games in.  The rest are neatly stacked in different cd racks that goes in the closet.

The guy probably saw this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Grafx-16-CD-Game-Racks-/261440477192?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cdf111808

and thought but this one's boxed.

it's possible that he based his price off of previous ebay listings. he runs the biggest retro game store in chicago, but some of his prices are reasonable/below ebay values.  this item pops up so infrequently, it's hard to say what the average market price is these days.  i do feel that $60 is a bit much,  i only paid $15 for mine.

he also has devil's crush and splatterhouse shirts displayed on the wall, thought i'm not sure if they are for sale.

I walked in that store one time and thought his prices were high.  One item i looked at was a Japanese AES and he wanted US AES prices.  Never gone back again.

thats prob an ebay price, not sure really hard call....kinda like the cd hardshell carry case its not needed at all but some people would like it to add to the overall collection. and being in box has to be hard to find, i would think half that would be a store price that would actually sell, but not sure its deft a hard one to price.
