Vestcoat, you took the time to add all that stuff to the poll? Wow, I don't even know if I'll read through it all.

Myself, I was here before, then registered in 05, not sure what led me to finally registering,b ut I do know from.. 1997 or 1998, until 2003 I took a break from buying TG-16 stuff. I had the system around, hooked up for a while, then disconnected again in 2002? 2003?

After a while of it disconnected, saw how TZDs stock was looking, ordered some cheap games I never bothered with before (Buster Bros, Riot Zone), and some more hardware. Got back into it for a while.

Then, 2008 or so, took a break again.

Last year, played through some games, Bomberman and Bomberman 93. Also played a bit of NES when I had the time, in 2013.

This year, not so much so far, but I plan on playing through a few certain games on NES, TG-16, and Genesis.

I haven't disconnected my systems during this time, though a few were unplugged, and in the case of the Duo-R, the voltage regulator switched off a lot. Yeah, I have one of those for the Duo-R. I like to make sure it is getting the same power it would get in Japan.

I've done this before, with the TG-16 and my other consoles, taking a break from it for a while, sometimes years, , then coming back.

I actually would like to know why so many of the regulars have dropped off from frequent postings.
Most of them were the reason i enjoyed this place so much. Trust me, some i dont miss at all, but for the most part, its a bummer. I loved this place when i joined in 2012, obviously not too long ago, but a lot has changed even since then. Most of the discussions and responses are just tired now and rehashes from people that just found this place, post the "OMG WHY...(insert dumb question here)" and leave.
Or worse, add drivel to EVERY new thread that comes up.

Alcohol ftw!

Even though I haven't been posting as much as I used to, I have still been obeying.  A couple of days ago I spent my lunch break in my 90° car and beat Blazing Lazers on the Express!

Well, besides the usual reasons (i.e. Real Life), I think some old-timers are frustrated by the "how many times have I already had this conversation" dilemma. I know I often feel this way.

Also, I want to play more PCE and talk about it (especially games that are rarely discussed, or aspects of better-known games that are rarely broached), but I end up playing until late, late, late and I have no energy/desire to post about it. This has been happening for years. I usually •  intend • to write something up, but by the time I catch up on the forum, I am falling asleep.  (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

BUT THE BIGGEST REASON I am not posting  is that I'm working on TG-16 stuff to share with you all in the near future.  (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

Also, I'm Jesus. This miracle shit is labor intensive.

Well, besides the usual reasons (i.e. Real Life), I think some old-timers are frustrated by the "how many times have I already had this conversation" dilemma. I know I often feel this way.

99% of the time it LIFE. I disappeared to go back to college and put away my turbo workshop, stopped playing games and stopped modding consoles. 16 hour days between classes, 2 jobs, and a truck that constantly needs repair has left me with little time other than to pop into chat and say "IAMALIVE" or something equally obnoxious. As far as the conversations It's either OMG MAGICAL CHASE or ZOMG where have you been?!?!!?? And after wading through all of those questions, what's left over is rehashing the Nintega debacle, who has the largest collection, and who OBEY's the most.

Also the members who passed away (RIP, you will be missed) who were here on a regular basis were the people I talked to more often than not. It completely took the wind out of my sails and was just too raw to be in chat or posting on the forum.

Even though I haven't been posting as much as I used to, I have still been obeying.  A couple of days ago I spent my lunch break in my 90° car and beat Blazing Lazers on the Express!

Dedication. f*cking awesome. This is the stuff that keeps me coming back for more.

Man, this makes me realize how little I've been on here lately.

So I'll bullet point the reasons why.
Working 46-65 hours a week.
Full time school
In the middle of moving
Lady friend
Lady friend problems
Lady friend problem solving
Seeing some of the shit that gets posted on that pce fb page.
Also, I'm starting to get seriously annoyed by "gamer culture"

So who has died? I searched around a b it, and Saw Sinistron died. I didn't know that.

So besides Sinistron, who else from here is now gone, permanently?

Snowkitty sounds a bit familiar. I used to frequent here a bit more when the chat was here, it did make me linger a bit more when I'd been absent for __ months. Then it was removed due to abuse, I missed exactly what that abuse was, though.

RR1980, I looked at some of his posts, I can't really recall him.

Sinistron I had some interaction with. So, I remember him, and his avatar very well. Shame how he went, drunk driver T-Boning his car.

Major depression, stress, and anxiety. Imprisoned on an island of clay and rock, surrounded by aliens I can never connect with, waiting for the chance to escape. The time has come for said escape... the chance is now.

Yes, I'm preparing to leave the island. Expect some game sales to pop up here shortly, as the less I have, the less I have to take with me when I go. I am moving to South Carolina... so expect to see me at the next MGC.

Real answers:
1) stopped gaming. Replaced lonely video games with 2/week AD&D group with friends.
2) stopped collecting. Own most everything I care to buy.
3) stopped learning. Mysteries of the LD-ROM, analog stick, PCE chair, MB128, SGX expansion, kid station, TE multiplayer, etc. have all been discussed and revealed.
4) endless noob collecting/price/rarity discussions.
5) not enough Zeta.

Things that keep me coming back:
1) TG16 awesomeness.
2) forum buds/nemeses
3) new indie releases
4) repairs
5) Order of the Griffon endorsements
6) flaming noobs

I'm still completely clueless on LD-ROM and I don't see myself ever having LaserActive, so somebody who lives nearby better get one so I can play it when I am visiting. I'm serious.

I traded away PC-FX and SGX years ago and now I regret it, since I am still intrigued by them.

Yeah, first time I became aware of him he was chewing me out, calling me a pathetic brown-noser and told me to get a life. I still don't think he's ever said two nice words to me. ANYWAY, he's smart as shit, well read, argues politics well, and basically nails it whenever he posts around here. The only thing he needs is a sense of humor.
