I went through PCEFX's TG16 domestic HuCard release list and I found I have a few
reasonably inexpensive games left before I hit the expensive releases that either hold folks up or drain their wallets completely.
I am nearing a complete USA TG16 HuCard game collection; I never set out to get this far: "Hey, this is one I don't have...this looks like a fun game...I'm getting 8 copies of Keith Courage for the cases, why not a few $3 sports games that might be fun."
I decided long ago that retail boxes are not needed, but it is great if they happen to be included. I have done business with four several PCEFX members and I have been collecting since 2009 locally and on the internet. I'll keep this updated as I find games. A lot of thanks goes to the PCEFX community for helping me find some of the true rarities, like manuals for my loose games!

I don't have anything on that list but I find it odd that you have a bad Tailspin also. I have a garbled one also. I wonder if there are issues with that game?
-
You too? I read on forum archives (I have been trying to learn the 'art' of better searching) that bad HuCards are really rare, so I thought with my luck I had a bad one. I cleaned the pins and tried it in two of my systems, but no change. So far, the actual levels seem okay but I am not that great of a player ...

Mine is really bad. It's just about completely unplayable.

Is this worthy of a post in the main forum? Jelloslug, is yours also bad in the text intro? In game, is it ruined too? If this card is bad, I'll replace it, but if it is bad programming...then I can save a tenner towards another card
EDIT: I'll go ahead and start a thread there and use my picture. Why not, it might do all of us a favor to settle this issue of keep or attempt to replace.

Oh, it definitely has issues.

just to manage your expectations, soldier blade and neutopia II regularly sell for more than Darkwing Duck. you might want to add some $$$
-
There is a reason Darkwing Duck is a wish list item. TurboViews and most everyone else say it is terrible, I believe them. Being such a late release it is more expensive than it would be if it had been released earlier.
Neutopia II was recently my most expensive game but that personal record was broken by Soldier Blade a week ago. I have really been enjoying 'Blade, playing it most every night; last night I got to stage 5 before it killed me. Both are great, wonderful, fun games; unlike Darkwing Duck. If I never add Darkwing Duck to my collection, I am okay with that, just like with the other titles with dollar signs. I will miss playing and owning them, but that is okay. Everyone knows prices are out of control, but I'm not going to beat that dead horse. My goal is the less expensive, easy to get titles (the only game that is worth $200+ is Panzer Dragoon Saga, IMHO).
Edited the original post to remove some found games  Added in 1990's Chew-Man-Fu as I overlooked it on the release by year list.

Bumping this want list up because I am realistically down to eight or so HuCARDs; please see the first post in this thread, it is up to date. The thought of paying $30 for Champions Forever Boxing or BoxyBoy just does not seem right, I am hoping a member or two could help me out. I have bought from several PCEFX members since I joined relatively recently.
Over the years I have been at TG16 collecting, I have a few loose HuCARDs to offer up for trade if that helps. Most members would probably have these, but here goes:
Dragon Spirit
Sidearms
Ninja Spirit
Keith Courage
Sonic Spike
Takin' it to the Hoop
King of Casino
TV SPORTS Hockey
World Class Baseball (x2)

Tailspin (need HuCard only, my HuCard is going bad)
I'd like to nominate ifkz for the official PC-EngineFX Collector of the Year Award. Not only does he play his games, he plays TAILSPIN. More than once. And notices when it starts going bad. And takes the time to shop around for a cheap replacement rather than immediately grabbing the lowest BIN du jour. And doesn't have Magical Chase on his want list, for whatever reason (common sense or resourcefulness?).
I don't know what the Turbo market would be like if all collectors were like ifkz, but it would be completely different.

damn, just a few more from the set! wish I could help but best of luck to you!

Thanks for the kind words! There is still plenty of work to do and many remaining games to look out to get (HuCards and CDs). I have yet to see the US release of Tonma anywhere, that may be the hardest to find of the bunch. Even afterwards I plan to purchase Sparky's case labels and manual inserts once my post count gets high enough (and also the Ys map pack). Getting some new jewel case fronts is also appealing, along with a system box. I guess it never ends, really, and that is fine by me.
What is most surprising (for me) is that I am tending to at least find something new every month. I am not sure how long that will keep up, but I am not complaining!

There is a sealed copy that was just put up on Ebay the other day. For a cool $1,100 it could be all yours.

I would love to go for a set. im missing about 28 games though. just sucks that magical chase will be impossible and maybe tonma as well due to raising prices
-
There should be no reason any US HuCard is priced close to a JP AES Metal Slug.

tell me about it, that's why i could never be able to get magical chase lol i'll stick to my everdrive for that one lol
that's why a lot of aes metal slugs now a days on ebay are conversion carts due to high demand from gamers but they don't want to pay the high prices for the original game, but they can always buy mvs :)

Bump for 2015! I updated the first post to reflect the few games I am missing. I have also been watching auction listings and surprisingly found a handful of manuals last year that I needed (and I updated that section too).
Good luck and good karma to everyone that reads this post for your own TG16 want list and needs!
-
i actually do have a few of those manuals, any chance you have one of the ones im after :) ( yes not magical chase.. lol )..
-
If you need a Keith Courage manual, I'm your source!
My Somer Assault is my only one and is wavy to maybe being water damaged, and my Magical Chase is a community made reproduction...
-
ahh well let me complete a trade im doing and i still might be able to sort you out :)
-
Great, it's such a thrill to complete a formerly loose game with a manual. This is how my R-Type, Dead Moon, and Splatterhouse got completed (to my satisfaction anyhow). As long as the manual has all of the pages still, or even just the cover I am happy. My Y's and R-Type have writing in them but I don't mind. My Neutopia II manual has well rounded corners and lot of wear and bends, but again, I don't mind (and I still treasure it).
-
Did you get a copy of Talespin? I have a loosie I was always looking to complete but it seems buying a complete one will be a hell of a lot less of a hassle on my time and wallet than buying it in pieces...so I figure I have a Talespin I can part with. I can only vouch for about half the first level as that was, as far as, my patience would allow me to play but that much worked perfectly.
-
I still have my broken copy of Tailspin, not as bad as others, but still broken. When yours runs through the demo, is the text okay? That was the only issue (so far) with mine, the levels all looked okay too. Maybe they had a bad run of these???
Let me know if the loosie is up for grabs, PM me and we can work something out.

Due to my living situation being split between 2 places, it may take me a week to get back to you but I will test it some time this week and get back to you next weekend.

Bumping this thread, I have little hope at finding these last four releases outside of auctions, but why not try? Cheers to the community for helping me get this far in my collection!
