Title: Reproduction TurboExpress/PC Engine GT battery door
Post by: jelloslug on July 23, 2014, 07:58:48 AM
Here is my latest 3D printed part:

It has some very minor fitment issues that I will fix on the next print but other than that I am pleased with the outcome.

It looks perfect jelloslug.  Very nice work.  How are you creating the 3D models to print?

Very very cool.

Any chance you could make a cover that could go over top a raw Turbo Everdrive card ?  And have raised TG-16 Logo, or Bonk or similar. Might need to use two way tape to attach it, or clip to the outer edge of the card (I'm no engineer). But somewhat of a dust shield, or protector for those of us that bought the exposed chipset version. Seems StoneAgeGamer is selling them with a small piece of plexi over it. But something 3D printed with a logo, character raised would be awesome .. and something I would most certainly have to purchase.

3D printers are still magic despite me watching videos on how they actually work.  MAGIC !

I have been working on something like that.  I just need to take my everdrive in and accurately measure the holes in it.

Sweet.  I'll hold off on buying anything until I hear from you.

Solidworks is an awesome program.  I used it for a few years when I did plastic injection molding.  I was pretty novice at it and even I could make some cool models with it.

Wow, I think you just became a god among men.

Next up, Duo door.

I don't need either, but they have come up *a lot* over the years.

This is awesome. I have the problem of repeatedly taking battery doors off of stuff. Good to know there is a possible replacement if I ever wear the express's out.

I'd love a print of the whole casing, jam a raspberry pi in there and make a custom Obey machine.
