I've been toying around with adding s-video to spare PCE I have here, but don't see much on the subject, everyone seems to be on the RGB bandwagon....
I'm using a stock Duo-R composite right now, and as good as the duo seems to be as stock composite I know I can get better....I just don't have the means to get it fully modded the way I want right now so it'll stay as is....
I can't invest in a full bang RGB setup right now, and Newer TV's are finicky with component out of the PCE )My Panasonic does a decent job, but flickers with certain scenes) I've been scouring the local Craigstlist for a suitable old set but no luck as of yet.
I'd love to have a PCE with S-vid since it would be the best bang for the buck right now.
Anyone have advice on the matter?
Thanks in advance.

There are already some other threads on the topic but it's just easier to re-post this info chart I made a while ago.

Also, in a DUO-R you can mount the s-video jack right next to the AV port Just like this.

Sorry I should never post tired...
I'll have to give this a go, thanks for the info...I assume it's safe to put the port in the useless rf space?

It's perfectly fine, I've done this with a few TG-16s and PCEs and never had an issue.

Yes, go ahead and remove the RF jack. In a PCE you can tap composite straight from the center pin of the RF jack. 5V is also on one of the RF jack pins closest to the front of the console.

Thanks for all the input, gonna give this a go I haven't soldered in ages (essential tremor) but I am at least going to open one up and look, if it seems to daunting I might be sending it your way :P
