The Everdrive covers are now available:
http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=18326.0
I had a new batch of stuff I had printed arrive today. Lets start with the Everdrive case:
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/everdrive case 1.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/everdrive case 2.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/everdrive case 4.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/everdrive case 3.JPG)
It will need a little tweaking as some of the wording that I added to the case is just too fine for the printing method that I used. I could print it with a much finer method but the price starts the get really high for what it is. The Reset button does function and you can get the SD card out without removing the cover. It also fits the Turboexpress with no problems.
-
Next up is the replacement Duo card door:
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/duo door 1.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/duo door 2.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/duo door 3.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/duo door 4.JPG)
This one came out nice. There are a few errors on it but I already knew about it but did not have time to send in the revised model before it was printed. All I have to do now is try an match the gray color on the original part.
-
I also reprinted the Turboexpress battery door to fix an error on the first print. It fits much better now but will need just a little more tweaking for my tastes.
-
Are these for sale yet or is this just a test run?
-
crazy impressive.. probably keen on the every drive case :)

Is there access to the TG-16/PCE switch?
-
Is there access to the TG-16/PCE switch?
Yep. I had designed in a switch cover in the case to make it a little easier to use but I ran into the detail problem with the lettering. As is there is an opening on the side that you can access the switch
-

Which part? All of them are close to being finished. I will probably do one more test run of each part to finalize the design. The biggest hurtle is going to be matching the gray color on the DUO door and the Turboexpress door.

Now that I look closer, damn glasses, I see you marked it...doh 8)

I'd be up for the Everdrive cover at least and maybe the DUO door and TE battery cover.
-
Super sweet! Subscribing to this thread.
-
Are you kidding, those are awesome. :P
-
I have a DUO-R door in my hands right now and I'm making a model of it to have printed also. I will make the necessary changes to all the parts that I just had printed this weekend and have (hopefully) the last run of prototypes of those parts on order.
-
Awesome work, I might be interested in the Everdrive cover when you've finalized the work. These 3D printers are something else, it was only very recently that I saw one in action at a computer store I frequent and couldn't believe what I was seeing!
-
Very nice! I need to get myself one of those now.
-
More awesome goodies! How is the everdrive cover attached?
-
That everdrive case is some handsome work.
-

This. Is it glued on or pressure fitted?
-

That one is pressure fitted but in reality it should be glued.
-
This is pure awesomeness! I will definitely be purchasing an Everdrive cover when they become available and I don't even own an ever drive yet.
-
that everdrive cover is so awesome
-
Fantastic stuff! keep us updated on how these come along.
-
Nice work! I'm in for a TED cover. I like how your design has indicia, and a reset button integrated into the case.
-
very cool.
-
I would definitely be interested in an Everdrive cover :) Terrific Job.. Looks great
-
3D printing blows my mind. Would it be possible to eventually 3d print entire console shells? For example if our consoles are cracked or yellowed, or we want to paint them a different color but don't want to mess up the original shell.

Yep, already possible...the future is here now.
I'd love an everdrive cover eventually, nice work
-
Would certainly pickup up a TED cover .. even though I just ordered another design. Would like to compare and have both in hand. Plus I suspect I might order a second TED shortly. Been too lazy to move mine between TG-16 in living room, and PCE Duo-R in gaming room. (1st world problem). Anyway very cool .. 3D printers are such interesting new tech.
-
These are awesome. Keep us posted.
-
Got word that my Everdrive will be on it's way, so I too am interested in getting a case for it when you decided to do it.
-
How cool. Did you use CAD to design it?
-
I continue to be amazed at what can be produced with a 3D printer. Sometimes I feel like we're in the future. Where's my hover board?

Look up Danny Choo and his Mirai android doll.
I want a 3d printer to print Obey toys. ships and enemies and main characters, oh My!

will you be mass producing the TED cover and sell them? thanks
-
As soon as I have the last little design changes made for the DUO door, the Everdrive case, and the Turboexpress battery door I will be selling them. Unlike the card case shell these parts are small enough that 3D printing is cheap enough to mass produce them.
-
I would like to get one in black, but I'll understand if you're only buying one kind of white plastic.
Here's a comparison shot of the "Deluxe" Stone Age Gamer version, complete with gold "screw yous":
-
You can paint it with black vinyl dye. It bonds to the plastic.
-
My finished parts will be dyed black, or not if you want a bare one.
-
Oh, very cool jello.
Any idea what you wanna charge for 'em yet ?
-
Nice work! I would love to buy one if you make them available.

I have not set a price yet but I want to keep it under $30

Does the Turbo Everdrive shell fit the USB adapter model?

No, but I could make a version that does.
-
they look great jelloslug.. can't wait to be able to get one.. definitely interested. 8)
-
I have ordered what I hope is the last prototype for all three of these pieces. There will be an update as soon as those come in.
-
Excellent, hope all goes well.

Excellent, amazing, fantastic work. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

Definitely interested in a new door. Wonderful work.
-
Here are the latest prints:
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/DUO door proto2.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/TE door proto2.JPG)
This is after dying them. The color is close but I don't think it's perfect. Next step for the DUO door is to get it on a DUO to check the fit. The Turboexpress battery door fit really well, the only thing I would like to do is get the color match closer. I also have another prototype of the Everdrive cover that I'm dying right now.
-
Very cool. Thanks for keeping us posted.
-
The duo door seems to change color faster than the console itself, from all pics I have ever seen, so the color being slightly off probably won't be the worst thing.
Can't wait to see the dyed ED cover...
-
This is fantastic! Great work! I would be interested in a DUO door for sure. When will they be available for sale? Thank you!
-

I have sent the latest prototype off to be tested by an outside entity. After that (baring any revisions) they should be available.
-
wow looks great!! and ya colours that are close with be just fine, like my stickers i do, not perfect but damn close.

Yea, I have a feeling that no matter how much I tweak it I won't get it perfect. I am really more concerned with the fit than anything else. I could still just dye them all orange....
-
This is all good. Thank you for all the hard work! I will most definitely be interested in an Everdrive cover. Keep up the good work slug made of Jello!
-
Looks great, very nice work!

Here is the Everdrive cover and the Turboexpress battery door installed:

(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/ED cover in TG-16 1.JPG)
(http://jelloslug.com/TG-16/ED cover in TG-16 2.JPG)
I think I need to radius the top edge of the Everdrive cover to make it look a bit better and to see if it will stop the front cover from curling. There is a slight bow because of the geometry of the part at the printing process. Gluing the cover on will fix it but for those that don't want to glue it on I want it to fit properly.
-
That ever drive cover looks mighty sweet!
-
Can I see a closeup of the reset button ? Is it just really think plastic that allows it to flex and press the button ? I just got the ultra low profile TED cover (in orange) via shapeways. But might have to opt for this one also as it's looks pretty sweet in black.

The button is a separate piece, kind of like the button on a controller.
-
Wow looks great next to print the whole shell of duo :D
Keep us all posted im sure i could use some pars asap
-
That TED cover looks pretty fancy. Has anyone here tried painting theirs yet (the TED itself), kinda like Stone Age Gamer does with their overpriced deluxe version?
-
That ever drive cover looks nightly sweet!
Definitely getting one when they go for sale. Imagine, with the right nail polish or acrylic paint...
(pardon the quick and sloppy photoshoppling)
I'm going to do that with the test one that I have now. I just need to get some model paint.
-
Definitely up for both 8)
-
f*cken nice!!
-
When you finalize the ED cover, I want a white one to closer match the DuoR
-

That should not be an issue. I already have that dye mixed.
-
Most excellent work! When these are finalized you can count me in for one of the Duo doors and one of the Everdrive covers.
-
Wicked cool stuff bro !! Now this is what you call 2014 Turbo Technology !!!
-
That looks great! Even the texture seems to match the console.
-
Wow! Looks great!
-
They are looking good. I look forward to the chance to order some. Great Job there. Really very cool.
-
Very nice work!

Yeah I planned on painting mine once I get it.
-
Jello, excellent work!
Are the pivot spring arms stronger than stock. If not you could add some strength there so that they will not break in the future.
Also are the cd gears too small to replicate?
-
nice ever drive. and those duo doors look nice.
-
Here is a status update:
1. Turboexpress battery doors are ready. PM me if you are interested.
2. DUO door: after a test fit it needs some minor tweaking. One more print and it should be perfect.
3. Everdrive cover: I'm make a minor change to help prevent warping and to fix an aesthetic problem. One more print and it should be perfect.
4. DUO-R door: I have one more rough print to make to finalize the shape and if that works I will have a sample printed.
5. Everdrive USB cover: There is some interest in this version so I'm going to get the dimensions for the port and make a different version for that one.
6. CD-ROM case latches: In stock, PM me if interested.
-
thanks for the update jelloslug. I for one am interested in the Everdrive cover, but like you said one more print...
none the less thanks for keeping us informed
-
I'm interested in a Duo door when the new print is made.
-
Any update on your wonderful work?
-
Any update on your wonderful work?
I have five TE doors and new prototypes of the other parts on the way. They should be here the first week of October.
-
I will definitely be picking up a few items for sure. Question, with the everdrive cover, how do you secure it in place?
-

There are posts that grip the holes in the board. I do recommend a little glue or double sided tape for extra holding power though.
-
Is the everdrive (non-usb) covers finalized yet? I am interested in picking one up when your ready!
-
this does look really nice! i've been thinking of picking up an Everdrive and if do I'm on board for one of these covers!
-
I too would be most interested in the cover for the TED once you have those available.
-
The parts have been shipped!
-
The parts have been shipped!
I already ordered my Everdrive from retrogate and am eagerly waiting on this new batch. I personally like this design so much more than the plain ones you have put a sticker on.

And last but not least, the Everdrive cover. I'm happy with this version so it is now available.
The best part now is that Shapeways just announced a price cut on this material so they will be a little bit cheaper than expected!
-
PM sent.
-
How much for an EverDrive cover? (If prices stayed the same?)
Thank you, (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)
-
I will be making an individual thread for purchasing the different parts shortly. This will make it easier (for me) to keep track of things.
-
Woot, i am excited to see the duo-r doors made!
-
Put me down for an Everdrive cover.
-
Slug you beautiful man. I will be in line for an ever drive cover. This in turn will force me to actually purchase an Everdrive.

I'm in the same boat as Desh & cjameslv, just ordered an EverDrive and I want one jelloslug's covers. Please add me to the the list.
-
Nice! Will pick up an Everdrive cover at some point. Awesome work. 3D printers are magical.
-
The first batch of ED covers and Duo doors are on their way. I will make an individual thread for each part when they arrive.

If not for the difference in texture (which jelloslug will be remedying) n you'd have trouble telling the 3d and original parts apart.
I guess this is both good and bad then.
By 'bad', I mean that at some point in the future, all kinds of devious sellers will put these parts printers to use creating knock off consoles, cases and accessories. And then pawning them off as the genuine thing. :o

It's not so easy as putting a part in a copying machine. Also, anyone will be able to tell the difference between a printed and a real part.

If it becomes that easy to make the replicas, they won't be able to sell them for bootleg prices... everyone can just make his own.
-
Those covers are fantastic, Imagine iof you printed a new turbo console but with cd drive in the molding, what a mod that would be
-
Those Everdrive covers look great! I gotta get one!
-
I'm so looking forward to these.Keep the updates coming.
-
Everdrive covers and DUO doors shipped today!
-
Was there another thread for purchase of the EverDrive covers? Great job!

Nope, I meant that the parts have shipped from the printer to me. As so as they are ready to sell I will make a separate thread for each part.

Hey jelloslug - I may have missed the answer to this question (if it was asked) but you're still doing fit testing with these parts correct? Also, was this the reason you are ordering them in white?

Hey jelloslug - I may have missed the answer to this question (if it was asked) but you're still doing fit testing with these parts correct? Also, was this the reason you are ordering them in white?
The only one that I'm still developing is the DUO-R door, the others have been tested. I order them in white because they have to be dyed to get the right color. Shapeways dyes their parts that are not white so there is no reason to pay extra to have it done when I have to dye them myself.

Ah gotcha - cost cutting measure.

Ah gotcha - cost cutting measure.
Not as much cost cutting as avoiding duplication of work. Also, once they have been dyed once they are not as easy to redye.

Any updates on this?

Any updates on this?
I have been dyeing the parts that I have but I have been a bit busy lately. I hope to have duo doors and everdrive covers ready shortly.
-
They'll be just in time for x-mas so everybody can put one in their Duo's stocking.
-
sign me up for a turbob duo door!
-
I've been playing my Duo-R a crazy amount lately. Im really wanting one of your ED covers!
-
This is the best thing to come out in awhile. I always worry I am going to break my everdrive because you are forced t touch it. I know it's just a matter of time before I break a trace or something stupid.
This is kind of obscure. But what I think would be really cool is a replacement cover for the Ten Noe Koe bank. If anyone has ever changed a battery in one of these you know you pretty much have to ruin it by prying the top cover off. Then you have to wrap it in tape to get it to stick. It also has the solder tabs for the battery built in to the hu card. And the get all jacked up. If you could somehow make a cover, that encloses a cr2032 battery, and maybe has a simple piece of metal that you could just glue in the top and bottom of the new cover that would be amazing.
-
I can imagine it has been a busy time for everyone. Any updates on these parts? Any new pictures you could share?
-
They are mostly dyed. With the upcoming Christmas vacation time I should be able to finish up the parts I have in stock.
-
Wow absolutely great work on these! Looking forward to ordering a few Duo and Everdrive covers when the time comes.
-
Bump!
-
I'll take a duo where where do I send money?
-
I will need a Duo door sooner or later as well. Let me know the details.
-
This is great news.
-
I want duo doors!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

No worries, I have another batch on the way just for the people that want white ones.
