Title: CD-Rom2 - Circuit for Lens-Motor
Post by: Xenogears on August 10, 2014, 07:05:16 PM
My CD-Rom2 refueses to work. The Laser won´t be spinned back to the middle position after turning on  and the pressing start. If I push the laser manually into the middle, it reads fine. The Detector-switch for the center-end-position works and openes/closes if pushed. This was tested with a multimeter.

So I fear, it might be an IC. Does anyone know, what IC steers the Laserposition and powers the lens-drive-motor, when the detector-switch is open ?

Thanks for your answer !

Update:

If I Play Audio-CD, the Laser goes into the Center Position if I press "Stop" oder "Disk Change" in the menue or "Stop"-Button on the drive. But it refuses to do so, if I Play a Data-Disk. Also, the laser should move, if I press - "Start" on the joypad - but it does nothing.

-Laser Motor is okay
-Laser reads CD-Audio and Games
-Laser moves to the outer Position but does not go back to the Center Position

Any Ideas where to start a fix ?
