Title: Avenue 6 pad problems
Post by: ralphee on June 14, 2006, 04:54:08 AM
Hi Guys

Just got one this morning off ebay, the pad looks totally mint and i was super happy. Sadly i plugged it into my core grafx2 and it doesnt work properly, on SF2 it just makes your character jump up and down erratically, i also tried it on star soldier and the ship shakes up the screen no matter what i do, ive checked my other pads and they all work fine on the machine, anyone know what could be wrong, ive contacted the seller and await a reply, just wondered what the problem may be, seems odd as the pad looks so new, ive tried all switch settings on the pad too.

open it up and check the solder connections on the three chips. Could have a bad joint or two.

I used to own a few Hori 6-button pads before, and I used to get similar problems. I learned later that I had to flip a switch on the controller from 6-button mode to 2-button mode. Does the Avenue 6 pad have a switch like that?

Thanks grahf ill see what the seller wants to do first though, it does have a switch for that i beleive, ive tried all options, but either the pad dont work, or the buttons go defunct? very odd!

Those types of problems are common when trying to use a 6-button controller on a 2-button game, but the games you listed are made for 6-button.
