Title: Falcom
Post by: Necromancer on September 24, 2014, 06:28:52 AM
To go with the Working Designs fap thread, here's one for Falcom games and goodies. Does anyone else buy stuff just because it's Falcom?
Here's me Falcom booty:
OBEY Brandish Dragon Slayer: The Legend Of Heroes The Legend of Xanadu The Legend of Xanadu II Ys Book I & II Ys III - Wanderers from Ys Ys IV - The Dawn Of Ys (close enough)
PSP The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Ys I & II Chronicles Ys: The Oath in Felghana Ys: The Ark of Napishtim Ys Seven
Vita Ys: Memories of Celceta
*edit*
Y'all reminded me that I've got the Ys Legacy DVDs as well as the soundtracks and various other swag included with the fancy editions of the PSP games.

I have a pretty big Falcom boner too, but a lot of it is either Ys or Popful mail. That reminds me, I should take an updated picture of my Popful Mail collection.

OBEY Brandish Dragon Slayer: The Legend Of Heroes The Legend of Xanadu The Legend of Xanadu II Ys Book I & II Ys III - Wanderers from Ys Ys IV - The Dawn Of Ys (close enough)
Excuse my ignorance, but what is OBEY? Is that an acronym for something? But yeah, I'm a Falcom fan as well. I have the Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion and Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky for PSP. I will get the rest of the series soon. As for Ys, I think I have all of them except Ys IV for PC Engine CD, Ys: The Ark of Napishtim, and the one for Vita, since I don't own that system yet.
Update: I looked up OBEY, and it seemed to point to Turbografx-16 homebrew games. But the games you listed are not homebrew. Still confused. lol. Enlighten me, Obi-wan!

I have lots of non-Ys Falcom stuff, but pretty much only collect old Ys game related items. For me, the real Ys series ends with Dawn of Ys. I have every version of the original Ys I - IV, except the Apple version of the original (I have the IBM version CIB). I still have quite a few post DoY Ys games and all the Steam games. I have dozens(?) of Ys/Falcom goods. One of my long planned video projects is to do a series showing each Ys game and their related books/videos/CDs/etc (same for Tengai Makyou).
Here's some of my Ys crap, unsorted after moving my game room around:

Mmmm, lots of goodies at PD's and BT's homes.
Whatchoo think of this one? I kinda want it because it's Ys, but youtube videos make it look kinda bleh.
Got it several years ago, only played it briefly, mainly got it cuz of Ys/LOH, so I really can't comment on it. I do hope somehow, someone picks it up for release. I think it does contain spoilers for TitS 2 & 3 if I heard correctly.

I should download the ISO some day and at least give it a try. Maybe it'll be better in person.

Sorry for the delay, I just snapped a picture tonight. This is the "shrine" I have not, but not everything is visible and some things are stored in other places. All of the drama CDs are stacked back behind the Soundbox as well, and some covers are covered up a bit because they look a bit more risque than I want on display when people walk in :D

The black thing on top is a Popful Mail hat that Working Designs sold back in the day, I also have one of the several Popful Mail pins I've acquired stuck into it as those came from WD too.
About that music video, I missed out on a promo VHS that looked to be related to the SFC Poppuru about a year ago on Yahoo Japan because it went for like well over $100, but I'm wondering if it had that video on there. I've got pictures at least, maybe someday another one will "pop" up for sale.

Oh cool, it almost looked like a bag or something. lol I remember another member here had a pick up pic featuring a dragon force hat. Along with how WD had mouse pads for some games they localized, I'm guessing when promoting they would pick random useful things to sell, hmm?
The VHS you speak of would make all kinds of sense to feature the PV music fun time, yes. I wish you luck in picking it up, Mister.

Lol, that was me with the Dragon Force hat as well. I'm a WD nut so I try and grab their promo stuff whenever I can find it.

Only Falcom games I've beaten are
Ys I and II Chronicles (PC) Ys Oath in Felghana (PC)
I got like halfway in Ys Origin, but I hated the main character, and the gameplay was too samey, so I stopped. B/C it's so linear though, I could start it up anytime without having to restart.
I would like to play more Falcom games, but many of them are in Japanese, and I don't like handhelds.
Ys on PS4 looks awesome though.

I'm not big on handhelds, but, it's play one of those, or omit games that I really want to play! Also, there's several Ys on Steam, though, I actually prefer portables over playing games on a PC.

I play many of my PSP games on a Go hooked up to the TV and with a DS3, which is more or less the same as playing on a console.
