Hi Thibaut :).
I would revise your post with a note that the prices are in USD. I'd also add the format that folks here are more accustomed with (just put your original prices in parentheses):
$2,000 USD ($2.000)
I know it seems redundant, but I think it would make things clearer.
Good luck! :)
P.S. There was a bounty on PC Cocoron in the past, issued by a fellow PCE fan, but nothing came of it... I hope you succeed in finding this game! It intrigues me to no end!
-
The decimals confused me too! :D
-
Thank you very much stevek666
I am sorry, my english is not very good, I make a lot of mistakes when I am writting in English.
Do you know the personn who had made the PC Cocoron bounty ? He´s from US ?

I am pretty sure it was Jammaniaclord (www.magicengine.com (http://www.magicengine.com/) forums) who offered $300-900 to anyone who could provide PC Cocoron. As far as I know, he didn't even get any solid leads... :(
-
I think at one point Jammaniaclord was even offering $1000 or so for it, but he gave up sometime last year. I also heard that there is a person in Jamma's direct connect hub that claims to have the game, but will not share or sell it.
-
I remember this, it was Jammanialord who made a bounty. How long ago was it? Can't remember for sure, tho.
-
He made his epic bounty two years ago I think, though I think he has technically been looking for it ever since the early 90's. It was just until two-three years ago when he performed and intense search :D .
-
To my knowledge, the only person who has flaunted a copy of PC Cocoron is known as Yuki. This person has blatantly shoved it in the face of PCE collectors and has sworn to neither sell it nor dump it.
-
Sounds like we might be talking about the same guy. If he really does own that game, yeesh what an a$$hole.
-
That's interesting. I never doubted that PC Cocoron existed in some form. The weird thing is that over the course of the PCE's life, PC Cocoron was announced a number of times. It had at least two concrete dates that I can remember. Of course each time the dates slipped into the unknown.
I'll have to go back to my old mags and do some digging. I never did notice anything about why the game never came out, but it seemed to me that there had to have been some retail copies made. I believe the game was even reviewed by at least one PCE mag. Not only that, there was a similar situation with Imperial Force. Not sure if any specific dates were mentioned for that game, but it was basically delayed forever. Both games were done by the same team (Sur de wave ??) and it turned out that they never even officially released anything on the PCE.
It's a shame. Both games looked interesting to me. But I read on a webpage somewhere that PC Cocoron, despite it's colorful gfx, had ok gameplay. I don't remember the link now, but I wonder if the webpage was by that Yuki person.

The only game I have by Sur De Wave is "Nostalgia 19xx" (???) for the Mega CD. It came with 2 CD's: the game itself and an amazing soundtrack.
Has anyone played the Famicom Cocoron game? Are they related? It was featured on one of the Japanese video game shows that Ninja Spirit provided in the YouTube threads. They didn't really show much, if any, gameplay. But they did show the famicom cart and its label. I really don't know anything about the game, except that you "construct" your character out of parts from a toybox. At least, that's what I read on some website...
No, I didn't want to google before posting. Sue me! :)

Not sure about the Fami Cocoron (don't remember it), but I found the page I was thinking about. Maybe you can tell me if it's similar to the FC version. :)
PC Cocoron review (http://www.geocities.co.jp/HeartLand-Suzuran/9038/pce_nfs22.html). It's in Japanese, but there's plenty of pictures.
Update: I explored more of the site, and it seems it is indeed made by Yuki.

Holy crap. I've never seen actual screenshots of PC Cocoron. Goddam!
So, obviously I have to do some research, but was Sur de Wave a European company? Or was it a Japanese company that specialized in bringing European games to the PCE?
I ask because Nostalgia 19xx always struck me as a game that would have originally appeared on a computer platform (Amiga, PC, ST). And the screenshots for PCE Cocoron strike me as VERY "Amiga platformer from European developer" ...

Thanks for the site, akamichi. I have been to this site before a few times, but never saved it.

It INDEED was i who have been searching for this game ever since the early 90's wheni wanted it So bad even way back then, when it was advertised in GAMEFAN Magazine. The release date was at one time printed, but it was short lived, become "TBA"(To Be Announced), which was frustrating, as i had called There retail store at least 3 times a week to bullshit, as well as check on the status of the games arrival in the land of the rising sun.
My price started out meager, with $200.00 for just a cdr copy, but i was a naive man, being a newb to the emu, and trading scene for the kick ass PCE, but i thought it was failry decent. I then got laughed at by many a gamer in the scene for said naivity, and upped the price to a larger sum, then eventually pitching the $1,000.00 offer for a cdr copy, with other trusted members of the NEC community tossing in their offerings as well to up the price, to go after Yuki. it never came about, since i didn't ahve the money at the time i was serious , and then i eventually went through a break up with my ex-fiance, and then going after the woman i stood up for the ex, and pursuing it to what it is now today, an engagement to be married in December of this year, and PC Cocoron's hunt, by me, has ceased for now, but still haunts me in the corners of my mind, and heart, as well as my soul.......i INDEED, would pay 1,000 dollars for a cdr copy if someone obtained it now, but as far as me obtaining it, it won't happen, my personal search has been halted for now, and i have used many search engines to find a seller in other countries, but was fruitless. For anyone wanting to get multiple searches in one fascinating multiple search engine program, look no further than Copernic Agent Basic, or the Pro version.......it DEFINITELY helps finding multiple hits and brings the results back to you.
PC Cocoron, and ANY other demo/prototype game for the PCE has my interest til the day i die, as i love that little white box!!!!!!!!!!
As far as the famicom version being like the PCE version, yes, and of course, no. the PCE version is an updated version all around of the Famicom one, but the famicom version is indeedy a fun game, and you should by all means play it with the translation patch. I think it is quirkily fun!!!!!
Yuki has been the ONLY one with the awesome pictures of this game in action, and are the ONLY pictures i ahve ever seen of this game from the title screen, to the end screen, and NOT EVEN GAMEFAN HAD these pics, or ANY other gaming mag from across the seas, or in the USA, so i KNOW Yuki is authentic. It si just a shame she rubs it in our faces. As far as i know, this person is a she. My one crazy contact(PCE) from the hub, tried to get it from her for me/us, i fear he might have scared her off with is oddity of communication skills(Scarily odd duck that boy, but i DO like him!), and she might not be interested now. he DID mention that she needed a few titles from me that i had, and MIGHT trade up, but she is HORRIBLE at english, and not even a translating program could save her.
maybe some one can get the fire going again.
I am open to helping a little bit at this time, but not sure how much since i am preparing for my wedding in December.
Talk to ya'll soon!

Thanks Jammaniaclord for your message.
I offer $3000 for a copy of PC Cocoron.
I meet in person Yuki in AKibahara the last month, he absolutly don´t want to sell PC Cocoron or make a copy.
Nobody can have any game of my wanted list ?

Yay, a post from Jammer! Excellent story Jamma and I hope you are able to obtain that game someday.

You must be talking about Rakan/PCE/PCECD from Saudi Arabia, yes :D ? I talk to him often on MSN, he's a fun person to talk to! I am sure he has told you about his massive e-book he is making about video games, right?

Ahh, so Yuki is actually a guy and not a chick. Your post is very interesting and I am sure Rakan will like to read this :) .
-
I hereby re-title this thread: "The PC Cocoron Tragedies"
...because I didn't know how close folks had gotten to Yuki, only to be turned away in frustration.
-
"Ahh, so Yuki is actually a guy and not a chick. Your post is very interesting and I am sure Rakan will like to read this ."
Who is Rakan ? A PC Engine collector ? He has some rares games ?
Thanks
-
Haha, Rakan is just a online friend of mine and Jammer's, he doesn't have any rare games like PC Cocoron (or any of us :) ) .
-
I wonder who'll inherit Yuki's collection when he get's old.......nevermind. Anyways, I see both Space Fantasy Zone & Silky Lip on there, which, are available to us, so, someday, we'll all be able to play PC Cocoron, I just don't know when that day is  And who knows, maybe Hudson will grab it, & publish it on the Virtual Console! I doubt it, but, it technically could happen!
-
"Anyways, I see both Space Fantasy Zone & Silky Lip on there, which, are available to us,"
I think you have just burn copy of those games, not the official copy.
Yuki has the official copy of those games.
Personally, I have the official copy from Telenet of the complete Silky Lip (version 7). I have also the official version2, 3.1 and 5.
-
Yeah, I'm talking about burns. To me, there's no such thing as an official copy, as none of those games were released. Even the pressed copies of Bonk 3, Super Air Zonk, & Might & Magic 3 that I used to have aren't official, since they aren't labeled & packaged, or shrinkwrapped. Plus, anyone can make pressed cd's these days. Like those fake copies of Sapphire for example. So there could be fake copies of unreleased games out there as well unfortunatly, which is one of the reasons I'd never want to pay for a "copy". It could end up being a fake, & someone who made it, is making a prophet off of something that ain't their's. But I can't say for sure. Which is one reason why I like being able to get games off the net, that way, I know I'm not being cheated in any way
Anways, so what I was saying is, we all have access to Silky Lip, Space Fantasy Zone, & Angel 2 Holy Night(although, I haven't seen that one on websites, but, I have it). The burn of Silky Lip I recieved is 3.1. I think I heard somebody was going to do a review on what's different in every version of Silky Lip.
-
"Plus, anyone can make pressed cd's these days. Like those fake copies of Sapphire for example."
No exactly, make a perfect copy is VERY hard. If you analyse the fake of Sapphire, you see some differences with the original.
My official versions of Silky Lip have a number on a CD : XX/20.
"I think I heard somebody was going to do a review on what's different in every version of Silky Lip."
It´s me ! I am working on a review who I compare all the 4 versions and the MCD version. At the moment I finish the Akiyamajin review, and after I do the Silky Lip version.
