So I FINALLY got a Duo. She's a beaut, but unfortunately I've no CD games until Kaze Kiri comes in the mail. There are quite a few I'm after, though, so if you have em, shut up & take my money!
I'm looking for:
Browning
Black Hole Assault
(^^and no charging me $20 for either of those crappy games, either. -_- I don't care what they go for on the 'Bay, these are bargain bin turdlets.)
Gradius II
Super Darius
Gate of Thunder
Red Alert
Shubibinman 3
Exile (US version)
Dracula X
Shadow of the Beast (US version I guess?)
Sapphire bootie (sue me)
Gotzendiener
Dragonball Z
Blood Gear
Kiaidan 00
Art of Fighting
There are probably others, I'll have to update the thread when I think of them. Since I have a Duo, I might be willing to trade my white PCE, AV booster, etc. for some of these. PM me if you've got any of these. :)

I'm sure you know Black Hole Assault sucks.
I even broke down and bought the Sega CD version, years ago, just to see if it was as uneventful as folks said back when it was released.
I am pretty sure that both games share exact same soundtrack and voice acting...I've actually listened to the silly story a few times (just to get my money's worth).
Anyway... you must be crazy, like me.

What!?
No last alert on that list?
-
Last Alert is great, came with my Duo R. I need to beat that one of these days.
-
Last Alert looks alright, but not enough so to warrant spending 50 big ones, as that's what it seems to be going for on eBay. If I could has it for cheap though...
And yeah, I've heard nothing but terrible things about Black Hole Assault, but I just love the animated sequences. Same with Browning, though I think I might actually get more enjoyment out of that one.

I understand. I want to try every game for myself, too, that's part of the fun.
I play a lot of games just to listen to the music...or for certain stages, or certain boss fights...
...so I can see why you would play for the animated scenes. :)
The PCE cover art for Black Hole Assault is "technically" much better than the others...at least that is one advantage. However, I think I actually get more enjoyment from the Sega CD cover art.
You see, PCE Black Hole Assault fails even the cover art challenge! Damn.

Is it at least playable? I can handle if it's boring or easy, but if the game is straight broken, it'll make me extra sad.
-
I've got a Last Alert I'll sell you cheaper. What price makes it worth it to you?

It is so boring, just mash buttons.

The Main problem is that you can't aim and shoot like in Robotron or Smash TV. you have to be facing enemies to shoot them. There is still strafing however and that helps a bunch. I like to keep the Turbo Switch way high and then hold down fire so you just aim and run, I feel it is the lesser of two evils. It's fun and all but noting great. Bloody Wolf is by far the better game.

I think he was asking about Black Hole Assault.

My bad, Black Hole Assault is dog shit.

I'd pay about $5 for it, maybe $10 for browning.
I'm gonna have to look more into Last Alert. So far, it's not looking too inspired, and I already have Bloody Wolf for top-down run & gun action...but I might be willing to drop a little cash on it. I'll PM you, Beamer.

I think Bloody Wolf is the superior game. However, Last Alert is certainly enjoyable. You won't be upset...but I wouldn't pay $50 for it. Well, I did, actually, back when it was released (I think I paid $60, actually), but wait until you can find it cheaper. It is worth getting the TG-CD version because it is part of the fun, IMHO, anyway.
Of course, if the PCE version is a lot cheaper, I would play it, beat a stage, then watch the YouTube video for that stages final sequence (to prevent spoilers) so you know what the boss encounters and cinemas were like in English. :)

I like Last Alert, I really do, The music is a bit strange but I love the style of the game and the animated clips. I feel the bosses are far easier than some of the levels. If you have enough health you can just stand there and trade with him and you'll almost certainly win.

You are correct, a lot of the bosses are really easy...the challenge was getting through the level.
As for the music: it is very subjective. I personally like the music quite a bit, but some folks won't be terribly excited by it.
MY FAVORITE TRACK IS THE ENDING CREDITS TUNE. I love it.

Love that tune.

Here here, good game. I have the Japanese version. Is that cheaper than the U.S. version? Maybe get that.
-
The japanese version is definitely less expansive than the US one.

Then get that one All the voice acting is in Japanese Obviously but the plot isn't exactly that riveting anyway.
