Holy shit!  I am getting this because I just spent $500 on a New Turbo Duo system.  Maybe I should get this game and not play my new Turbo Duo.  And then sell it all for $3000+.  Then I'll try to find another new Turbo Duo and finally play my Turbo Duo.

Is it even worth it?  For that much money, you wouldn't want to even open it.  Just get one used in pristine condition for $160-$180 with spine card and registration.

The game, realistically, is worth SQUAT! It's NOT super-rare, it's not even RARE! I wouldn't pay more than $60 for an unopened copy.

Unfortunately, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

You'd think for $1200 he would include free shipping.  But no, the bastard is gonna stick you with an extra $6.  :P

It's rare to find a new, sealed Dracula X, though.

I agree that NO, its absolutely not rare. But, its rare to see them for sale. Most people hold on to their copies. So technically it IS rare.

Now paying this much for a new copy, thats just stupid.

I think this seller made a typo. I bet he intended to list it at $199. Otherwise, he's on crack.

As for prices, they are determined not only by "rarity" but by "demand". There is a high demand for this game... I'd go so far as to say that it is one of the most sought after titles, simply because there are tons of Castlevania fans who have no interest in PCE, per se, but who would still want a PCE (or magicengine) solely to play the coveted Dracula X.

i bet against! since the price for a sealed & mint ADX in akiba amounts about US$500 as well! and nearly noone who bought that game years ago keept it as seald (japan or outside).

It's only a lot of money if someone doesn't have very much.

There are a lot of wealthy collectors out there who don't feel the difference in their wallet between $100 and $1000.

The sealed video game market thrives on these people.

What is a good rpice for a Dracula X game with the spine card and everything else mint with no scratches, and a brand new sealed Dracula X?  Don't tell me $1,200 for a new one.  take care.

You can get a complete copy in great condition on Yahoo Japan for about 50-100 dollars (most likely $50ish). It's expensive on Ebay because... Well...

I was watching those for a while - But they were going for close to $100.  Factor in the extra 30 or so in deputy fees, and the chance that your not really going to get what you expect - could be dangerous.  I did order some stuff using Okshon! deputy services before- Not such a bad deal, worth looking into at least.  Maybe the prices were just inflated during the 2 week period I was checking it out.

Buying from YJ is not a problem. Usually at least 50% cheaper than Ebay and the Japs keep their games in great condition.

I agree, they do take care of their games - Everything I have ever ordered from Japan has been in very good condition - I took a few risks, and have always lucked out - not a ripped label or scratch on any disc.   Although the SFC carts do tend to yellow quite often.

If I am a member of Yahoo auction in America, will my account work for Yahoo Japan auctions?

I don't think so.  I'm pretty sure the only way to use yahoo japan auctions is with a deputy service or knowing someone that lives in Japan.  That's what I was told when I first showed interest it myself.

$100.00+ in most case's.

Still you could try http://www.japangamestock.com (http://www.japangamestock.com/) and see if they can find you a copy.

Are you sure?  I thought I saw it sealed at Super Potato for around 25,000 or 30,000 yen.  I'll check the next time I go there.

sorry, may be a little bit hyperbolized ;) the US$ is still over the Yen. in fact, i saw one for 46'800 Yen last time in mint condition.

sealed doesn't mean mint condition always  ;)
