Maybe I am just a noob with flash carts (which is true), but I can't figure this out. I loaded the roms onto a mini sd card and put it into the everdrive. When i put it into the system I just get a white flashing screen. Any ideas?
-
After reading some things online, it seems like this may have been sent to me broken. The everdrive should load up without a card even in it ](*,)

Do you have the region switched to your correct region? Unzipped the files? Is it in upside down?

Unfortunately, yes to all of the questions. Even if i put the everdrive in without a sd card it still won't do anything besides blink white or green.
-
Is your system modded? It doesn't play nice with the region mod sometimes.
-
No it isn't modded.
-
When does the new version of this come out? I may be better off just waiting until then to get the new one.
-
Maybe you just got a defective on. You can send it back for a replacement.
-
i assume other cards are working okay? its a long shot and you have most likely already done this but maybe try cleaning the contacts? good luck

I did try cleaning it and other hu cards work fine. So, I am thinking that it might be defective :-({|=

ya i figured you would have tried that already - it is quite possible that it is defective then

I am considering to buy one of these everdrives for my Duo. It just seems like a really great idea to have all the games on one cartridge.
Is this the first instance that people are aware of getting a bad everdrive card? Do these cards fail easily?
I am mostly just curious before I decide to buy one or not.

Soon, probably a few months. All it does is move the components around so it will work on certain console without needing to hack off the locking tab. It also adds RAM for possible homebrew game use and works with Populous (which requires RAM). It will not work with Arcade cards. If you already have Populous and don't care for homemade games, just get the current one. Or better yet, wait a few months, used first gen TED will show up cheap.

Rarely fails if you handle it with care. ie don't drop it, don't spill beer on it, etc. There are 3D printed cover to protect the electronics for those who don't have a Duo with cart slot cover, the cover will probably not fit the next version.

To be fair if you have PCE there's no excuse not to have populous. Great game, all in English and cheap to boot. But yeah if you have a US set up and v2 makes I playable go for it. Or you could always get the promised lands CD instead.
-
Anyone hear of any updates on the release date for the everdrive v 2? I am hoping it is sooner then later because I want to play all my turbo games that I have on my computer because I can't afford US versions of games. Once I have the ED, then I will save up for a Duo or Duo-R system.

I've got 3 ED: PCE, FC and MD.
The FC one was behaving funny, lots of crashes. I posted my problem in the relevant ED forum after reading all the posts that might have been related, and trying solutions to common problems. KRIKzz suggested I send him the cart so he could check for defect. I did that, and the cart indeed had a problem. he sent me new one, works great like the other ED carts.

I don't know how often this happens but I was very pleased with the way my problem was handled and fixed.

All Everdrives have lifetime warranties, so in the rare case that something goes wrong, you can just return it for repair/replacement.
-
I have almost every one of them and have not had an issue with any
