hello everyone, i am new here. i just bought a tg-16 on ebay which will arrive in about a week. i plan to pick up some games, and maybe even the everdrive. i didn't have a tg-16 in the 90's, i had a SNES. i finally realized what a gem the tg-16 system is. this is a massive forum with tons of great info, so i plan to pore over it as soon as i can.
-
Nothing wrong with a snerds. :) Did you play a lot of RPGs on the system? If so, you're in for a treat should you ever acquire the means to play CD games.
Anyways, welcome aboard. ^-^

An everdrive is an excellent choice!

Welcome, comrade!
:)

Welcome. Have fun playing HuCards for a while then think about getting a CD setup. Don't wait two years uming and ahing like I did. Totally worth it.
-
Welcome! Do you actually Airsoft?
-
Glad you found yourself a system. You should pick up the everdrive. A new version is supposed to be coming out soon, so you may be able to find the current model on a discount when that happens.
-
If you're into playing the games, you should definitely start by getting an Everdrive. If you still have collectard urges, you can satisfy them with patience and based on experience with the games.
If you had asked here first, we would have recommended getting a Duo-R with region mod first so you'd have access to everything.
When you're ready for mods and CD gaming, look up Keith Courage.

Don't listen to the folks who say you need to get CD-ROM. You have plenty of time to check that out in the future.
Enjoy the great HuCARD games (with EverDrive).
:)

+1 on the Everdrive. I still need to buy one myself.....
-
Thanks for the welcome. RPG's? No, I only had a few carts for the SNES and my favorite was Prince of Persia.
I am not a big fan of CD or DVD based systems for whatever reason. I hate scratches 8-[
I am not an airsofter, but I made up the name "airsoftmodels" one day, and got a gmail account with it, the name kind of stuck.
I will definitely get the Everdrive, as soon as I verify my system works. I will probably get the Core Grafx system as well to play all the great Japanese Shmups.
-
if you get the everdrive, it is region free. it will let you play the japanese games on your TG16
-
Welcome aboard!
Skipping the CDs is kinda silly. There lots of great huey games, of course, but you'll miss out on some of the system's best games.
-
Welcome Aboard!!

Welcome to forum!
I also heard Turbo's best games are on CD's. In the hunt for the CD attachment myself.
-
There honestly are, imo, great games on the HuCards like Neutopia 1 & 2, Dungeon Explorer if you are into rpg style games.
Mass amounts of shooters like Blazing Lazers, Super Star soldier.
Even some good platformers like the Bonk series. Oh and I know Double Dungeons gets pooped on a bit but I beat that game back in the day and I rather enjoyed it. Although it is a bit bleak with the sameness over and over.
CD wise, yes it does show off a bit more of the systems potential with but that is because the cd games have access to more ram if I am not mistaken. It has games for most all genre's it just has more for certain ones is all so it all comes down to taste. Highly under rated system... The entire thing is just a hidden gem for those that never experienced it.
Oh.... and welcome :D

No shame in it. I love Airsoft Models too!

hah, that picture is hilarious!

I was a Nintendork too, I love my NES and SNES as a kid. Years later one of my friends sat me down, and was all like
"No. No. No. Throw that thing in the trash, I will show you a real system"
lol Welcome (I'm new too)

My TG-16 arrived today and it works! So I want to buy the Everdrive. Any suggestions where I should purchase from, since I live in the US? I would like to receive it as quickly as possible. Stone Age Gamer seems to be located in OH, and krikzz.com, who is probably the manufacturer, seems to be out of the Country? Thanks again for the assistance.
-
Their gouging collectardy crap scares me, so I'd gladly buy directly from krikzz and wait a couple extra days.
-
SAG can have faster shipping because they are in USA but they charge extra for all the eye candy which most people may not need. Krikzz is the official site and the price is very good, cheapest around but they are oversea and when I ordered my stuff, it was around 2 weeks to get through to my hands.
-
hes in the Ukraine! 2 weeks isn't that bad considering what they are going through.

Stoneage is lame, they slap a different sticker and make a box for it now its double the price...I ordered mine from here: http://shop.retrogate.com/
-
I ordered my Famicom Everdrive from Retrogate store and shipping to Sweden was cheap and lightening fast (4 days max)!
I'm waiting for the new PC Engine Everdrive though, I heard it will have RAM instead of Flash, USB will fit in SuperGrafx and it will possibly support ROMRAM HuCards (Populous, Ten no Koe BANK), System Card RAM, and hopefully the possibility to backup the Backup-RAM to the SD card.

Only because USA has relaxed customs. If it doesn't contain large value, doesn't trip alarm for illegal explosive or drug, and listed manifest doesn't contain illegal item the package usually pass through customs in a few days. Other countries can add 2-3 weeks just to check the package. Some of the worst countries included Brazil (2-3 months) and Israel (package labeled containing educational plastic toy are OK but labeled as LEGOs are banned, f*cking weird)
For those in USA, just take it through retrogate and save money over SAG's eye candy.

Thanks! I wanted to make the face better but I couldn't find a higher res pic source of your Durstatar.

Haha funny :)

Welcome to Pcenginefx!
I second the others who say to get a CD system. I was just like you in not liking CD games, but after trying some of the games, I decided to get a Duo, and I've never regret ex that decision since
-
the turbo everdrive arrived yesterday. what an amazing library of games this system has. thanks for all the recommendations everyone.
-
Cool! How is the Everdrive? I'm planning to get one too.
-
So far everything I have tried to run on it runs perfectly. I have been playing Cratermaze & got up to level 13.
If I can pick up a SNES mini for $80 on Craigslist I will buy another everdrive for that system too.
-
bienvenido my friend. Do yourself a favor and find a controller extension cord.

Cool. Everdrives generally seems to be very handy to have. I'm waiting for the new version coming out, then I'll decide which one I'll pick up.
For Snes there is also the SD2SNES that is much better than the Snes Everdrive, but it's also quite expensive.
