The cable for my PAD-125 has frayed and the thing no longer appears to be working. I was wondering if someone knew where I could find a replacement for it that outputs 12V DC. Most PSUs I find only output 9V and I'm worried those might not provide enough power for both the pc engine and CDROM2 unit.

If it hasn't shorted out yet, you might be able to save your existing adapter by cutting the bad section out of the cable and splicing it together.

even though they are rated at 10 volts standard PC Engine duo AC adapters work just fine for them and already have the correct AC adapter tip.

the turbo duo supply fits the same and is 110v input

Do any of you own one of the 3rd party adaptors I mentioned? Should I just buy one? gamedoctorhk sells some though they're 9v.

Will it really extend the life of the console??? Also, shouldn't it be 12v and not 9..? AND how can it not require a stepdown transformer for those of us living in 240v countries?

Those specs are correct. That's good marketing about extending the life of the console though.
It doesn't require a transformer because it's rated for 110-240v, just like any cell phone or laptop charger.

its a switching power supply so it is multi-volt input capable. meaning you can plug it into a 110 or 220 outlet and it will work just fine on either.
