Title: What do you eat for breakfast every morning?
Post by: Flare65 on April 30, 2015, 05:21:16 PM
I'm getting tired of the old milk and cereal routine and I'm looking for new ideas...

Typical morning for me includes a bowl of cereal, 8oz of orange juice, and a travel mug of coffee for the road to work in the morning.

Funny that you posted this at night, but...

Every weekday morning I get my daughter up/dressed then my wife and her eat breakfast together.  I drive ~30 mins to work an once I am there I always make myself a cup of double-bergamot Earl Grey tea and have a bowl of oatmeal that is stirred with a spoonful of local honey from an apiary that one of my friends keeps.  Delicious and filling.

The weekends are random though, normally cereal one day and a nice hearty breakfast like eggs/french toast/waffles/etc.  Plus BACON.

Peanut butter & jam on toast, or...
PB & honey on toast,
cinnamon toast (butter, honey, sugar, cinnamon),
english muffin w/ butter & strawberry jam,
toast with butter & Vegemite, or...

plain oatmeal with banana slices & honey,
oatmeal with maple syrup, or...

sometimes yogurt & granola together

the deluxe is usually eggs, toast, a sausage or hash browns, or
pancakes or French toast & the works.

Usually served with coffee or orange juice.

Yes, it's all high-calorie and fat, isn't it.

I eat the new McSteak & Lobster Roll with extra spicy mayo wrapped in rice paper & a McRibwhich Meat Shake, nothing but the best!

Nah, usually I head over to my parents house & my dad n I hit up Carl's Jr., Taco Bell, or El Pollo Loco.  Occasionally we go to Numero Uno(love their pizza), Del Taco, Wendy's. Burger Express(local place).  Even less often we do Fish n' Chips(local place), Burger Barn(local place), Chef Burger(local), Tommy's, Subway, The Habit or El Tecelote(local place, been here since the Bronze Age).  That's all I can think of at the moment.  We usually grab a bite to eat before work, sometimes it's in between jobs, or something we get a snack/coffee at McDonald's(coffee & chocolate chip cookies) or something from Coffee Bean(Iced Mocha Latte or Ice Blended Green Tea are my usuals, sometimes an Ice Blended Cherry Blosom).

Weekdays I take a banana and a can of Mt. Dew or Dr. Pepper to work for breakfast; weekends are oatmeal or cold cereal.

A tall frosty glass of Whole Milk is just about it.

I am usually preparing school lunches and cereal/juices for the kids most mornings.  On weekends that sometimes changes to pancakes for everyone, but usually all I have time for is a glass of milk....

Gotta throw some Ovaltine in that milk!

I drink coffee.

This + protein of some sort. Usually a handful of almonds mixed nuts. If I am hungover I get a breakfast burrito (eggs, cheese, beans) from a taco shop.

When it isn't nothing, I'll have pop tarts and milk. Or if I have some time I'll have Honey Bunches of Oats or Froot Loops and black coffee. I love breakfast food, even if it's small and fast.

Oat version?  I've always wanted to try 'em in their raw form, as I love rolled oats (as oatmeal, in bread/cookies/etc., whatever).

Eggs.  Either eggs with a side of meat (either bacon or sausage) or eggs in a low-carb tortilla with some melted jack cheese.   And coffee with heavy cream.

I used to eat cereal every day, but I was always hungry before lunch.  I stay satisfied if I eat protein and fat instead of carbs.

Grilled ham + cheese sandwich (sometimes on a french bread roll) plus a cup of orange juice. Or I simply buy one or two pães de queijo (cheese breads? this doesn't translate well) from the local bakery to eat when I'm in a hurry. Coffee with milk is common but I really don't like the taste of coffee so it's just juice or milk for me.

All this meat talk is alien to me hahah. Here's a recipe for my favourite breakfast food if you care and have access to the ingredients: http://southamericanfood.about.com/od/breads/r/paodequeijo.htm worth it if done properly, Punch Food Grade Authority 95+.

Maybe I should check out this bacon in the morning business someday. :-k

Usually just coffee or water.
I don't like eggs, so that immediately limits my selection of traditional breakfast fare.
