Title: Formal introduction..hi everyone
Post by: ginoscope on May 05, 2015, 04:44:09 AM
Hey guys I'm new here and it's great to be part of a like minded community.  First a little background on my turbo history.  I got my first turbografx 16 in 1990 and I immediately loved the system.  I remember playing all the greats like Bonk, Legendary Axe, Blazing Lazers, Nuetopia.  I was just so amazed how different these games were from snes and genesis games.  Then came the first failure and I sold my turbografx.  Right away I knew I had done a horrible thing.

About a year later a friend sold me his turbo grafx with the cd attachment.  I was so impressed with Ys, Ys III, Valis and other CD games.  I was back in the turbo camp.  I amassed quite the collection.  I had the system 3.0 card, Loom, Dungeon Explorer 2, Beyond Shadowgate, Dracula X.  Then for whatever reason around 1995 I sold all my stuff again.  I have no idea why but to this day I regret that move so much.

As time went on I discovered magic engine and even the turbo VC on the wii but it was never the same.  Fast forward to now and I was watching some youtube videos on getting rgb from old systems on newer TVs. That immediately made me think of getting a turbo duo. Just last week I got myself a duo with region mod, rgb, and completely recapped.  I am so happy now but my collection is going to need a lot of work.  I only have a couple of games so far but that should change soon.

You guys are my witness that I will never sell this duo.  It's probably going to the grave with me.  Good day turbo fans I am glad to be part of pcenginefx.

Nullity will chime in soon.  Be very cautious of that guy, he has friends in very low places....

Thanks for the welcome everyone and yes I do deserve the scolding for selling it twice.  You guys have no idea how awesome it's been having a duo again.  Like I found a long lost friend.

I do plan on getting additional systems to makes up for past mistakes.  Was thinking the pc engine cd briefcase.  Are those pretty reliable?

They tend to have gear issues, but that's fixable for reasonable monies.

Regarding Backup-RAM, you can get a MemoryBase128/Save-kun (and low-discharge rechargeable batteries). It has 63 times the memory in a BRAM unit. You also need a game that can use it though.

Irrational fear of tennokoe bank cards...? What caused that? Did one rape your save games? :P I have one and I like it for transferring data between my systems.
