Title: ROM AMP for SALE
Post by: Digi.k on May 27, 2015, 12:24:01 PM
if any one is interested there is that unique amplifier and speaker set up for the pc engine going on sale right now on eBay.

I've only ever seen this in old japanese pc engine magazines and never in the flesh !!

If it wasn't so expensive I would snatch it up but it looks pretty new!

That price is a joke. Can easily be picked up in Japan for about 12,000yen if you know where to look.  Never buy anything game related from ebay uk.

This is the seller I meant to post in the Gouging thread. They have this ROM2 Amp listed in two different eBays under two different user IDs who have different feedback. The prices to buy and for shipping are also different.

Last time I looked for one on eBay this past year, one CIB had a BIN of $350.

I like the novelty of that thing...but, if I recall correctly, the PCE suitcase simply rests on this AMP...I was hoping they would "lock together" like separate lions forming Voltron.

Never, and I mean never buy from someone that lives in Japan but is selling in Euros. They are making an absolute killing buying in Yen, doubling and sometimes even tripling the price, then selling in the stronger Euro.

As for this particular dirt bag, everyone knows who that is right?

Neat piece o' kit but not at that price.

I was hoping they would "lock together" like separate lions forming Voltron.

There was a new boxed one of these amps that sat unsold and relisted on eBay for years, the seller was based in Hong Kong. I can't remember the exact asking price but it was signifcantly less than the one posted in this thread.

This item is located in Japan not the UK. It's a French seller, selling stuff from Japan.

What's worse, is that it looks like the Rom2 Amp is longer than the IFU and the top is just bare metal. So that it only looks cool from the very front. :/ I was less motivated to get one after seeing that.

Damn, I hear you.

I would still want this silly thing for the right price (I have problems!), but it isn't as intriguing as I initially thought.

Damn.

If I'm not mistaken, Tokyo Toy Factory is a guy named Christophe and Laurent's company is called Neo Ayato. There was an old thread on NG.com about it. At one point that piece of shit STV even chimed in asking people to translate the messages into Japanese and warn the shops in Tokyo about him. Of course, that was a little while before STV's mask was pulled off.
