I just picked up this pirate / clone HuCard and I haven't seen much information about it out there on the usual sites (pce bible, vgd clone list, etc.) So, any clone experts out there familiar with or have one of these? If so, any history on it and whether its japanese, taiwanese, chinese, or korean?
Games are switched by turning the power off then on again, there's no menu. Also, all licensing information appears on screen, there have been no hacks added to the games to remove them from what I can see. Have not played through to see if they are the entire carts yet or just a portion.
The games it has on it are:
1. R-Type
2. "Car Racing of the Century" (Victory Run)
3. "Monsters on the Road" (Yokai Dochuki)
4. "World of Adventures" (Bikkuriman World / Wonder Boy in Monster World)
All games play fine, but the card itself doesn't fit correctly in a PC-Engine DUO-RX (the locking mechanism is blocked by the "fat" HuCard, despite having a small slot available for it), so I have been running it on a PC-Engine GT instead.

There is some good info here: http://www.videogameden.com/pirate.htm Didn't see your exact one though.

There is a nice list...

No dice. I actually checked that site before posting. Still looking for info if anyone has any...!

Ahhhh... I didn't realize you had mentioned the "vgd clone list"...
I was trying to find another example of a pirate HuCARD with the same design as yours... but I haven't found one yet. I thought the "Super Engine II" used cards similar to yours, but it actually uses cartridges.
Over the last 20 years, I have seen some pirate HuCARDs that Video Game Den has yet to document. I wish I had saved the images from eBay auctions :(

I have one like that, but with different games on it. I don't know which market(s) they were made for.

Hey Black is yours linked anywhere on the web? Or do you have a pic?

I've posted it on here before. Most of my stuff is currently packed up and I didn't see it in a box of about 100 loose HuCards.
I think that it might be the "PC 4 in 1" on vgden.
EDIT: I found my PCE HuCard binder. It is the PC 4-in-1.

Just looked at your card and noticed that mine has lock notches on both sides.

Where do you guys find these things?...

2 notches is interesting. Must be a newer version to account for new model pce's.. regarding the four in one i have, the search continues...

Flea markets, pawn shops, garage sales and sometimes eBay. Seems like about once a year someone here posts an eBay listing for a pirate HuCard.

Your's looks pretty similar in design to this one: http://www.videogameden.com/pirate.htm?pce06

I've had many different pirate cards, but I don't think I've ever seen this one. Sweet find!

Thanks! yes i love collecting pirate hucards and consoles, especially for the pc engine since they tend to be pretty rare. :)
