Title: Vic 20 - Free to good home
Post by: grache on June 26, 2015, 09:07:58 AM
I've got a Vic 20 that's in pieces. I don't have the time to put back together, although it should work after reassembling the keyboard and making/buying an AV cable. I was going to drop it off at Goodwill, but seeing that it's in pieces they'll probably junk it, which is a waste.

The case is yellowed, but only minor scratches. There's some surface rust on the keyboard springs, and a colony of dust bunnies living inside of it. It comes with a couple games, some manuals/books, and everything it needs to run again sans AV out cables.

For the price of shipping it's yours.

Glad to see Vic-20 is being saved from the trash.  It was a fun machine despite it's limitations.  I still prefer C64 though.

If for some reason you can't get someone to claim it, you could try lemon64 forum.

My wife would kill me if I adopted another ancient computer.

I've wanted an MSX for years. I can't get any more computers / consoles until I get rid of others. That's why I'm letting go of the Vic 20.

Waiting to hear back from schmuck, looks like it's his now.

Good trade-off/compromise.  You'll be happy with the MSX.  Even happier with MSX2.

I used a PET at grammar school, later replaced by C64.

Ah. Ah, well.
If you believe in 2nd chances, are on the east coast and have $20, or on the west coast and have $30, that dream could come true.

System and PSU is 8lbs, with games, ram expansion, books it comes in at 11. PM me your zip code and I'll let you know how exactly how much shipping will be.

Yes, I'm gonna go for an MSX2, I haven't done enough research to decide on the model model yet.

Do you have an MSX(2)?
